Just got back from Mojave. Amazing experience. When SpaceShip One seperated, it did so right under the sun. Then, whoosh, straight up... through the sun and into space. Hard to describe in words. But you could see it through binoculars all the way up, and about half-way through its final climb.
I've got video of the event, and I'll try and post some screen captures later today.
