Sauropod, well said! I strongly agree with everything that you said and commend the manner in which you expressed strong disagreement with alisasny without personal attacks, insults, or acrimony. (And she posted a magnanimous, classy response.)

The tone of the board and the discussion of issues would be greatly enhanced if all FReepers disagreed with the class that you both have shown here. Kudos to both of you!

Originally, I thought we should not give the secret-seller any extra fanfare, but the chance to talk with the press today has caused me to change my mind. People need to hear the other side.

I talked with a local paper called Metro, a big Chicago daily, Time magazine (I think--at least the microphones said "Warner"), Air America (she kept changing the subject whenever I made a good point, just the way Ann Coulter describes the typical liberal), and the Sun, and I think I will be on Russian television (the U.S. cable version, probably, not in the USSR; anyway it was RTN or RNT).

My sign said: "SAVE! Get the boxed set:" and underneath that were three book covers: My Life, The Communist Manifesto, and Pinocchio. I walked all up and down the line, which wound almost all the way around that huge block, and people in line were mostly laughing, with just a few boos.

More tomorrow, down by Wall Street, where NYC GOP Chick and HateBill will join us. Today we had Sun and freeperfromnj there for a while, on their lunch hour.
