The one problem with the theory is that as long as the 2nd Amendment exists, Muslims will not be able to 'doom' Jews here. One Jew with a gun in his hand is greater than 240 Muslims, armed or not. The point Lawrence Auster makes can't be made strongly enough.

In fact, I would go a little further and say that for some secular Jews, the Holocaust has become essentially a substitute religion. Instead of adhering to the Torah and the Covenant, many secular and semi-secular Jews have constructed a kind of secular religion out of the Holocaust.

The Exodus from Egypt shows that an all-good and all-powerful God protects His people with his strong right arm. The extinction of the Jews in Auschwitz shows that God doesn't really exist. That is exactly what Elie Weisel argues with a certain gloomy satisfaction in "Night."

The Holocaust certainly cannot be ignored or forgotten, but there is a real danger that it twists people's religion and their political thinking. Hitler is dead. Now there are other dangers that must be confronted.

He is a crank, who ignores information he doesn't like on Jews, including Jewish diversity. Just as the Nazis had Social Darwinists, Neo-nazis have a sociobiologist like MacDonald.

2. Jews tend to live in areas with gun control, not that Muslim terrorists care. Muslims have murdered a number of Jews in America, including shooting up a van full of students.

Don't look at me. I am a son and grandson of survivors. The real problem is American Jews who are racked with guilt from the inaction of their grandparents.

Our (American Jews asa whole) have some destructive pathologies. Strategies that were once effective, or have falsely been remembered as such, have become anachronistic impediments if not suicidal tendancies.
Anti-nationalism, liberalism as a religion, and desire for a protective government are probably the worst of these.

my tribe were once dixiecrats, now we are arguably the most dependable republicans....there is hope for everyone to come around given the right stimuli.

given our common foe, i personally consider nationalism to be a priority for us as well as Israel.

speaking now of ALL liberals, I must confess I am amazed and saddened at how quickly many here have gone to sleep over the danger we face....it's like they have forgotten 9-11. I fear we will have to suffer much much more before we are ALL galvanized.

I've noticed this too. The article has only Jews wringing their hands at the influx of Islam into the U.S. The fact is, all Americans should be concerned about Islamic immigration.

This generation of Islam is a bold one, because Christian faith is weakened by liberalism now and there is noone at the watchtower with eyes keen enough to warn us of the evils and dangers of Islam. With the exception of terrorism the menace of Islam goes largely undetected. Way too many people are convinced that there is only a small fraction of Islam that is a danger to us and that Islam is "one of the great religions of the world".

Subsequently, the Mohammedans find it easy to come here, and they meet no opposition in infecting our society with their maniacal beliefs.

Before anyone starts to accuse this author of anti-Semitism, I would like to point out that the author is of Jewish origin himself, and - like most of us here - is fiercely in Israel's corner in its struggle against the murderous Jihadis.

Mr. Auster is really talking about the suicidal nihilism that is at the root of all liberalism, and the necessity of our complete repentence from it if we, whether we are Jewish or Christian, are to survive. Many American Jews have been infected with this disease of liberalism and substitute it for the real Jewish tradition and faith. The same is true for millions of nominal Christians in the US. Israel itself has liberals within its Jewish population who desire to see the place inundated by Mohammedans. That's one of the reasons I've taken to referring to liberals (including the faux conservatives at places like the Wall Street Journal) as Kool-Aid drinkers. Like the hapless followers of the Rev. Jim Jones in Jonestown, Guyana, they drink the poison without question or objection.
