If he is so good, why isn't he still on the 'Bin Laden' post?

Because the Clinton administration thought he was too aggressive about going after bin Laden. That's evidently in the book..

We finally have Clerics coming out and denouncing their terrorists, I think they are wrong about losing this.

They identified his post and the years. I suspect not long. I suspect they leaked enough in this article to cost him his job, at the least.

Right, the guy is hiding in plain sight & some journalist is gonna eventually spill the beans about something just about everyone knows & then we'll have to suffer through calls for Congressional inquiries into this "leak".

I hope you're right, but I'm afraid it might take quite a while. I think they will have to understand that if they don't like certain aspects of modernity, they will have to be blockaded and quarantined.

Well, the publication has been cleared (and they could have plugged it). The guy is described as "overt". Probably he will be shifted into paper-pushing in some other department, and then, after X yrs, retired quietly.

I thought this would be a 60 year war with terror, but with clerics coming out against terror on some levels we could truely wrap this up sooner, maybe after only 25 years.

Maybe we'll be lucky with 15 - 20 years, LOL.

I don't honestly sell less than 25, but I'd take far less than that if we can get it.

"We are fighting a worldwide Islamic insurgency — not criminality or terrorism — and our policy and procedures have failed to make more than a modest dent in enemy forces."

We have seen minimal attacks on America since 9-11-2001. There was the attempt by the shoe bomber to down a plane in flight, there was the anthrax attack, there was the DC sniper duo, there was the LAX counter shooting, and maybe a few other "attacks" that we know about.

There have been more successful attacks against our allies in the war on terrorism (Australians were targeted in the nightclub bombing and the Spanish elections were targeted in the Madrid train bombings). There are attacks on civilians (kidnappings/torching) but these went on prior to the war as well and are not happening in significant numbers.

Israel is still being attacked (and I couldn't say if the number of attacks is more or less). Even the terrorist attacks in Iraq are more show than severity.

Russia has had some terrorist attacks.

Compare this to what America (and the world) faced PRIOR to 9-11-2001 and it is hard to make the case that the terrorist are "winning".

I doubt his anonimity will last long. The buzz of this book is getting to be deafening, despite the fact that it is being published by a relatively obscure publisher.

This is the first I've heard of it. Are you thinking this story is big enough to be on all the news shows and that Rush will be talking about it?

I agree with the comments about the author's anonymity. There's no way it can be kept secret.

One tinfoil question. Is there any way this could be a scam and the author is not what is claimed?

"We are fighting a war with radical Islam and until we recognize this fact, we cannot win."

I think is something that ordinary people understand with complete clarity, and it is the elites (of all political stripes) who wish to obscure this fact.

>>The author says the threat is rooted in opposition not to American values<<

"This is an absurd statement of the author. Take the Declaration if Independence as a basic statement of American values. What part of "Life, Liberty and the persuit of Happiness" is in any way compatable with Islam???"

"Life, Liberty and the persuit of Happiness"

Those are VALUES!
