To compare what used to be routinely done two thousand years ago with today is a sign of mental illness ( insanity folks). The Romans used to crucify people and out side of the Muslim worls (Iraq and Sudan and maybe even Saudi Arabia) it is not used in the modern world ( maybe because we have more efficient means maybe because we are less barbaric). Even the ridiculous French have outlawed the guillotine...When are we going to call Islam what it truly is? What? I thought we just established that there is a right and a wrong way to do it. Now it's not right at all? Or do you just smite their necks a little bit? You know, to get their attention?
Secular authorities in predominantly Christian nations have used beheading as a method of execution, but there is nothing in the theology of either Judaism or Christianity to justify beheading.
What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? No one is arguing about the actions of secular governments. Nor is anyone accusing Judaism or Christianity of espousing decapitation.
The issue here is whether or not Islam explicity approves of killing non believers by way of decapitation. Apparently, it does. So what more is there to discuss?
It's the perfect religion if you're a rich male living in a pre industrial society. In fact, the entire religion is set up to fuse 'church and state' together, and make it easy to run for the guys on top.
The 'rewards in heaven' lines are enough to keep the unmarried males motivated, while the sheiks enjoy the rewards on Earth. It's as big a scam as you could dream up, and yet Muhammed, by reinventing parts of the Old and New Testement, pulled it off to the hilt.
Thank you for supportive words. I posted what I believe, and what the vast majority of people are thinking, but afraid to say. They can feel the threat. They hear the war cries of the Muslim. They are afraid of saying what they hear and feel and know because they may be labeled as prejudice, a racist, or bigoted. Still, people are unsettled with their innermost thoughts. They see trouble on the horizon, and their leaders are leading them into the jaws of death without telling them just how much peril they are facing. There's something I really want people to see more then my opinion. I don't want them to merely accept my word of what I see. I want people to know why they harbor these thoughts and feelings. I want people to see for themselves.
MUSLIMS DEMONSTRATE ONLY IN SUPPORT OF VIOLENCE, AND THOSE MUSLIMS THAT PARTICIPATE, OR HAVE PARTICIPATED IN VIOLENCE.
NO ONE HAS NEVER SEEN A MUSLIM DEMONSTRATION FOR PEACE TOWARD NON-MUSLIMS.
LOOK! WATCH THE NEWS. READ THE NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES. It doesn't even matter if it is liberal or conservative. It's the same message in both! Item one occurs over and over again, while item two never occurs. THEIR ACTIONS, NOT OURS TELL EVERYONE ALL THEY NEED TO KNOW.

This time the visitors are discussing the murder of Paul Johnson in Saudi Arabia. Most of the posts came from Saudis of course, the rest came from Egyptians, Iraqis, Jordanians and from people in the Emirates. What caught my attention here was the total absence of comments from Syrians and Palestinians who used to flood the forum with their posts!! The majority of comments showed frank condemnation and shock but I selected posts that reflect varying points of view and I have to mention that the positive/negative posts ratio you’re going to find below is a little bit less than the actual one I found in the forum. I hope that reading these comments will provide a better view about the reactions of people who are close to the field where events happen.

Me too. I'm awfully glad we came up with some clarification there. I mean, it isn't as if these guys are savages who cut off heads willy-nilly. There are rules to cutting some poor sumbitch's head off. Restrictions. Protocols.
This stuff just can't be taken seriously by anyone sane. I'm reminded here of the Monty Python skit - "I mean, he didn't *want* to nail my head to the floor. I had to insist. He wanted to let me off. There's nothing Dinsdale wouldn't do for you..."
