I have to disagree -- and I'm a long-term Army vet.

Our dress greens are simply ugly. The Marines have the best uniforms. I've grown so disgusted with the direction the Army has taken over the past few years (berets for all, co-ed basic training, etc.) that -- if I had to do it all again -- there's no way I'd go into the Army today.

Being married to a Marine Officer who went to the USNA, my vote, of course, is for the United States' Marine.

Our life is hard, our bases suck, the locations suck, the Marines are always sent first and to the front, period. Whenever we travel, we look for Air Force bases first because they glisten with perks.

FR is a gathering place for Republicans & conservatives. We are sick of pc cra* being rammed down our throats. Rivalry is a tradition even though the democrats would like to see it abolished altogether.

Marines are Marines are Marines, whether enlisted to the Commandant. They can all shoot, and all are trained to kill. If the Marines had been unleashed in Fallujah, it would have been akin to pitbulls in a chicken coop.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem. Ronald Reagan, U.S. President - 1985

roger that...uniform is fugly...I was a little upset when we dumped the cotton fatigues for the permanant press poplins, and when we ditched the khaki's...I liked the interm jungle fatigues (starched really well)and agreed with the BDU's and the brown tee shirts- didn't like it when we lost the trench coat, and the incredibly warm great coat- I missed the steel helmet (for shaving, boiling water, etc) but I loved, I repeat, I loved my BDU cap- I retired just in time...
