And don't forget the all important expiration date. I keep telling people, it's not an expiration date -- it's a sell-by date! It's still good for another 10 days after the sell-by date!

Good points. Not only will a conservative approach catch bad guys, it may prevent other bad guys from searching prematurely broad-casted locations.

The Dems and the media are now so committed to the "no WMD's were found" storyline, that it will not be abandoned even if dozens of WMD's are found in various places. As politicaljunkie said earlier in this thread, they will only admit to WMD's if hundreds are found neatly stacked in a warehouse.

for what its worth, Yosef Bodansky claims that only half the stockpiles made it to Syria - he claims the other half is still in iraq in underground bunkers we have yet to locate.
To: Michael.SF.
On a serious note, it is in many, many ways sad that we are happy to have found such weapons. The happiness is there for more than one reason.
Part of it is that finding these weapons means they can not be used against anyone.
To: oceanview
"it will not matter, unless Bush goes to a microphone and asserts the WMD claim - this story will simply be written off as "old shells leftover from the Iran/Iraq war". we all know the spin."
if these ARE old shells, then they were already in Iraq and Blix/the UN didn't find them.
Begs the question - What ELSE did Blix miss?

something further will undoubtedly be coming ... the portion of the interview with Dulfer I heard was presented by one of the FOX news babes (maybe Uma?) at the top of the hour segment.

If you were finding a few of these shells, and you knew there were likely more, would you want the terrorists to know anything about where/when/how??? Can you blame them for keeping quite.
If the terrorist found one chemical shell and set it off in Baghdad, or some other big city there could be heavy casualties.
This is a very serious tricky problem to deal with.

The left saw the writing on the wall & dropped the WMD thing weeks ago.
Now they're complaining that AAA hasn't yet granted Al Graib prison a Five Diamond ranking.

Then there is the aborted WMD attack on Amman, Jordan that was trying to kill around 80k including the government, and the perps admitted to having met with al-Zarqawi in Iraq the prior week. That one is down the memory hole. Or at least it's "We have always been at war with EASTASIA."
