It probably won't work.
They use weighted average, i.e., they throw out all 1's and 10's, to make it, according to them, a more fair vote and also to prevent vote stuffing and vote wars.
If you ask me, IMDB is a freep-proof site!!! :(
Hmm, if this site is correct;

the way they weight it is that you have to rate 50 movies or more before any of your votes are counted into the average.
I know I have rated more then 50 movies on IMDB.
Doing the math, if they just threw out the 1s and 10s, the rating would be 6.24...so I don't think that is it exactly.
They don't throw out the 1's and 10's, the average is the average. They do have a weighted formula, which they post, for determining the Top 250.
Look at the huge difference in U.S vs Non-U.S voters

5.0 vs 8.5 !
That's the biggest gap I've ever seen between any 2 demographics on IMDB!
That's the real damage this movie is going to have is when its internationally distributed and the foreigners don't know any better because they have no access to rebuttals from their native language media.
From experience with Euros, they really do believe Moore's lies.
You'll here alot of lefties here in the US argue that everyone knows he's full of it, so it is no big deal. And that is mostly true in the US...but in Europe...
