The Faces of John Kerry's Democratic Party(New Bush Ad is Devastating)
www.georgewbush.com ^ | 6/25/04

Posted on 06/25/2004 5:22:47 AM PDT by finnman69

"The Faces of John Kerry's Democratic Party" "The Coalition of the Wild Eyed."

It shows clips of the unhinged Al Gore (how dare they drag the good name of the US), Howard Dean(I want my country back), Dick Gephardt(This President is a miserable failure), Michael Moore from the Oscars, John Kerry (kick their ass), and shows some of the Nazi/Bush comparisons from Moveon.org.

It is not a pretyy picture.

Then it is contrasted with "This is not a time for pessimism and rage" "It is a time for optimism, steady leadersnip, and progress".

About time they did this! Next on the list should be showing Algore and his psychotic rants about "no Iraq-Al-Qaida link-Bush lied" and then show all the times in the past where he himself said Saddam had ties to terror.

I just saw the ad and think it is a great concept that can be improved.

First, it should be made completely obvious that the vicious negativity and Hitler references are made by the Democrats.

Second, the minute long ad should be increased to two minutes, with the second half containing optimistic, Reaganesque messages by George W. Bush.

This will make the ad more balanced and a powerful example of compare and contrast.

Awful ad. They should pull it and do one using the same subject matter but in a way that makes sense. The video pieces "bleed" all over themselves.

I thought the best way to do such and ad would be to clone how Michael Moore does his phony "documentaties". Make it look ust like one. Call it something like "Bowling for Nutcases" or "Farennutz-911".

I would not give Moore to much free advertising. The ad is a little rough, but in principal its great is exposing some awful clips of unhinged Rats to the public.

That is a really strong ad. Do you know where they plan to show this ad? Is this just for the battleground states or is this for the cable channels?

Thanks for the heads up on this!

Also, for a bit of humor, a short clip of the Howard Dean "Yeeeaaarrggghh!!!" should be inserted into the ad a few times.

I'm personally tired of seeing Gore getting any TV time at all. That was one of the perks of voting for President Bush that I counted on-not having to listen to that idiot talk. And after seeing him running in his spandex shorts during the recount fiasco-well that was another reason I was thrilled he wasn't elected.

This ad is atrocious....

There is hardly any indication that this is a Bush ad until the end. Its giving raging lunatics 50 seconds of spewing then the Bush company gives a one liner.

They should separate each lunatic with a calming Bush setting including quotes or campaign statements.

Its confusing watching it the first time when its going on about Nazis in 1945 after Gore screams about Abu Ghraib.

Pull this one and redo it. Its too quick for an unknowing viewer to consume it after realizing its a Bush ad.

I agree, the editing is just awful. To someone who doesn't know about the moveon.org ads, it looks like Democrats are being compared to Nazis. On my computer, you can't even read the text under the video of Hitler. Also, there's nothing to show that Bush is any better except for some soothing piano music.

Oh come on, for 8 seconds there is a black background with white letters.

"The Faces of
John Kerry's Democratic Party"

"The Coalition of the Wild-eyed."

How much clearer can you get. It's 1/3 of the ad.

I also didn't like it - it is too easy for people to remember the nazi scenes as being on a pubbie ad.

I would rather they did an interview on the street ad, with people saying
"I trust the President"
when asked if they are worried about terrorism.

I thought the ad worked beautifully. I'm watching these raving lunatics trashing my country, my President, our war, and by association, our brave fighting men. My blood was nearly boiling. Then all of a sudden, I'm calmed by the vision of a true leader. Shoot, I teared up at the end.

Put me down in the "great ad" column.

Still, they need to test it before they run it. What a conservative audience thinks is devastating to the Dems may or may not be devastating to the actual audience.

Yeah, I agree. They could have dropped the Hitler footage altogether. It doesn't sit well. It might not sit well with those on the fence as it doesn't necessarily explain that this is what democrats are comparing President Bush to. It might appear to be Republicans comparing dems to Nazis, especially the footage of Hitler on a raging speech there in between. The 'Rats' ad was dropped in 2000 for the same reason.

Merely showing the insanity of the left would have been enough. Then, as you said, with a calm and collected George Bush at the end.

As a side note, Evan Maloney of Brain-Terminal.com could make a great ad with his footage. I'm sure the official campaign wouldn't be about to use footage of the average leftist American, but a third party could.

Right. As it stands, your typical Kerry supporter would probably see this ad as anti-GWB (thus pro-Kerry), showing how the democrats are all fired up and all that drama they seem to appreciate. Plus the ad does appear to unintentionally compare GWB to Hitler.

If you think about the ad's message, it's pro-GWB and has a good point. But the problem is, most people won't think about it, especially since it's an ad, and we've been conditioned to ignore ads.

I didn't see a "I am GWB and I approve this ad" so I am assuming that this is still a work in progress. Probably released to scare the RATS and force them into going nasty early. Another Republican strategy to keep the RATS off balance.

When this airs, expect to see the Hitler reference removed and a "Lie after Lie after Lie" or the "Black Helicopter" quote from Teddy be added. We may even see a "Pelosi Special" although I do not think most Amnericans can identify her.

Yeah, content aside, why would any ad, to be distributed on the net, have small text in it that can't be resolved at low resolution? As for the content, I'm sure the dems LOVE having the Hitler/Bush imagery repeated for them.

Jeeez! Don't look at this from an educated freeper standpoint, look at what the swing voter would see!!! Hello?
