It does not promote awareness to the dolts that don't pay attention.

They will just see prices go up and blame Bush (or whomever it is at the time.)

No. The price of a product will actually go down, and will still continue to be 'tagged' on a product as it is now. They will however notice when the 'at register' price goes up when the tax is increased.

Do you think people don't notice when their local, county, or state sales tax increases?

As far as dolts being unaware, the thing they have to do with the NRST is make sure that it is visible, the way the 5% sales tax is in Maryland, for example. Make sure that the prices are not tax included, and people will see the tax added each time they purchase something.
