The Republicans (God's own party?)have gotten so far away from the conservative small government party of my youth that I do not think that it can be saved any longer. If you want to try, then dump Bush at the convention. If the party can manage that, there is hope. But if you nominate a big government neo-conservative, you are just no longer a party that any moral person, concerned with the limits to power that are inbedded in the constitution, can live with.
