370 (35%) Democrats
380 (36%) Independents
If one assumes a 33-33-33 split among the three groups, then Bush is ahead by 5 points among registered voters, and ahead by several more points among likely voters. Yet this is being spun as bad news for Bush . . .
Ok, I understand. My recollection of the LA Times spread was 25 R's and 38 D's...making it a 13% of total sample difference, or done your way would be a 52% increase from R's to D's.
Source Dislcaimer: I did get these numbers from the polling orginazation, but heard them on Rush a few days ago--which though I do not doubt Rush's honesty, it is possible he mis-spoke or I mis-heard, and with such a huge and glaring difference, I would appreciate it if someone could point me to some confirmation.
