According to one of the students, here is what the "teacher" said in response to them having sex:
"Debra LaFave told him that she was having sexual inadequacy problems with her husband and she was turned on by the fact that having sexual relations with him [the student] was not allowed."
What a gal - she hung her husband out to dry as well. Thank goodness if convicted, she will lose her teaching certificate and I believe that will make her ineligible for teaching in any state.

I know this is a weird thing to talk about, but I've had at least four women friends in the past several months confide in me that their husbands don't want to have sex. These are very attractive women. I don't understand it. I think there's something going on that Society won't talk about.

We have raised a crop of kids in a highly structured series of life trainings -- school, sports, formal extracurricular activites that emphasize meeting expectations at the same time have created nonsensical expecations about sex.

It seems obvious after reading the material at the smokinggun.com that she did want to be caught. I don't think it had anything to do with movie deals, or book deals.
It had all to do with humiliating her husband. Thats at the core of this story.
