Pinging the chapter per JVB request and to alert all to yet more evidence in the case against the Washington Compost.

...The Post interprets events, and the herd of independent minds bleat their approval and start tapping on their keyboards with their hooves...

"herd of independent minds"?! A bit overstated, but not by much. This is the root of the problem. Even if there are good news stories being turned in, they are not being aired or printed. Consider the level of bad news stories coming out of Iraq since Saddam was removed to those reported before.

Given the coverage, one would think that the Iraqi people were much better off with Saddam. The reality of course is that the Internationalist Left was better off with Saddam. That is the root of their hatred and the biased coverage that feets/sustains it.

Given the coverage, I am nearly to the point where I firmly believe that there is an extremely liberal “News Committee” that determines what will be disseminated by the major media and the “proper spin” to be placed on it so the common herd can “properly” interpret it.
ABC, CBS, NBS, CNN, local TV News and our papers all cover the same few stories with the same spin often in the same order.
Yes, I know it’s because the stories come off a common wire and the journalists (I can’t really call them reporters) on the scene are all of a like mind - but it sure does act like a News Committee.

Iraq veterans often say they are confused by American news coverage

The war has brought a new way for Americans to look at our press. It is sad that we have to leave the country to see it.

I've bookmarked the article to send to Ted Como, editor of the Kingsport Times News. He is bipolar on his coverage, regurgitating the AP line while covering his ass with glowing reports on local troops returning or departing.

The returning locals all report the same line...... coverage from Iraq is incorrect, yet they keep on keeping on printing the DNC vetted drivel purveyed by the AP.

"Chandrasekaran's crew generates a relentlessly negative stream of articles from Iraq – and if there are no events to report, they resort to man-on-the-street interviews and cobble together a story from that. Last week, there was a front-page, above-the-fold article about Iraqis jeering U.S. troops, which amounted to a pastiche of quotations from hostile Iraqis. It was hardly unique. Given the expense of maintaining an Iraq bureau with a dozen staffers, they have to write something to justify themselves, even if the product is shoddy. This week, Chandrasekaran has a Pulitzer-bait series called "Promises Unkept: The U.S. Occupation of Iraq." The grizzled foreign-desk veteran -- who until 2000 was covering dot-com companies -- now sits in judgment over a world-shaking issue, in a court whose rulings echo throughout the media landscape. He finds the Bush Administration guilty. Such a surprise."

Whatta disgusting little WORM of a man...nice to have put a face on the LeftistBias, though...MUD

Why-war? website. Link to Chandrasekaran's anti-U.S. articles

This man isn't just anti-war, he's anti-U.S. This link pulls up a collection of his articles from a site called Why War? The articles speak for themselves.

The big problem is AP is owned-but-not-operated by those same newspapers and tv stations. It gives them the equivalent of a "reporter on the spot" at a tiny fraction of what it would cost to send someone there.

AP seems to "tailor" its product to what it thinks will sell-which is REALLY the whole idea.Profit is considered a helluva lot more important than truth, justice, etc.

Truth is the "flyover country" of journalism.

Thanks for taking the time to set the record straight.

AND a bigger Thanks to you and your fellow Marines for serving our Country. We are proud of you and the job you are doing on behalf of the United States of America.

While the rest of the world just talks the talk, the USA walks the walk.

GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS!

That is the root of their hatred and the biased coverage that feets/sustains it.

Sorry, but actually I think you got it backward.

Their hatred of the idea of the United States and the success of its people is what drives everything they say, do, and say they do. It's the sunrise and sunset of their motivation. They're all about trying to subjugate a free people, and we don't subjugate worth a rat's ass. God, how they must hate us!

Oh, and btw, I spread a lot of links to the original article around my addressbook.
