Say it ain't so Lance! (Armstong against Iraq war?)
Sports Illustrated | 6/29/04 | drew

From SI's frontpage story on Lance (in a section where they discuss the tensions between the US and France and how it affected him): "Never mind that Armstrong opposed the war too. ('There's a lot of bad guys out there running small bad countries," he says. "Why go and get them?')"

Looks like that moron Sheryl Crow is having a negative influence on Armstrong.

There's a lot of bad guys out there running small bad countries,

How many of 'em Lance were firing missiles at our pilots on a routine basis?

Heh, well, its a looooooooong bike ride through France. I guess Lance figures it's better to have people cheering you rather than pelting you with rotten produce.

Now if he would participate in American bike races instead of the Tour Du France (do we have any? If not, let's make a Coast-To-Coaster.), he would be free to say "Hey you french whiners, shaddap!"

Lance has been an Austin Liberal for years. However, he will bring home his 6th tour victory this year.

Anyone wbo doesn't get the news that Iraq and Al-Queda were connected, conveniently forgets that Hussein was running terrorist training camps, and hadn't heard Putin's admission that the Russian intelligence service was telling Bush that Iraq was planning U.S. attackes, might well come to the conclusion that we should have left Iraq alone.

We need to get the word out!

Lance gets big doses of CNN, BBC, and MSNBC whenever he travels in Europe. I can tell you first hand that it is hard to get straight news over there. One of the only English dailies is the Herald Tribune. It's also quite slanted.

BTW, I always love this argument that because you haven't nailed all of the bad guys, you shouldn't nail any of the bad guys. If that standard had been applied to FDR, we would have either had a choice of fighting Japan, Germany and the Soviet Union all at once or not fighting any of them at all. Obviously, only someone who wants to commit slow suicide thinks like that.

There's a race called the Tour of Georgia that Lance actually participated in this year.

Spending a lot of time in France must affect your thinking.

Why don't we pay attention to every rich nitwit who rides a bike, sings a song, or acts for a living?

Little-Boy Armstrong's ex-wife doesn't realize how big a favor he's done her.

Too bad, I thought he was a W supporter. Nevertheless, I will be cheering him on next week. Go Lance!

I hope he takes a spill off his bike, just like Kerry...okay Bush too, but Bush's tumble was so much cuter I'm sure.

How many of them attacked their neighbors? (Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, & Isreal) All within the last 15 years.

How many of these bad guys running small bad countries killed
at least one million Iraqis? (this is an estimate before the mass graves were uncovered.)

And how many of these bad guys killed better than 300,000 Iranians, & 2000 Kuwaitis in the late 1980's and early 1990's?

Additionally, Cliton put Iraq on the State Department"s list of Cuntries that sponsor terror for 6 straight years so why is there a problem with attacking a terrorist sponsoring country during a WAR ON TERROR?

Did Lance bring up the topic of the Iraq War, or did the ultra-liberal SI writer put him on the spot? If all he did was blurt out a couple of sentences because he was asked for his opinion, I can't get too worked up about it. If he'd made some extreme, Bush-hating statement, I'd be mad, but all he seems to have said was, "I personally wasn't in favor of it." Everyone's entitled to their opinion, as long as it's rational, and they're not trying to trash others merely because they have a soapbox that regular people are not given access to.

Well, spending time in France certainly affects the brain, but the notion of being a reasonably competent politico-economic analyst because one has sat on a bicycle seat and fooled around with idiots such as the bourbon sponsor, Not Yet Old Crow, is something less than laughable.

In fact, the notion isn't worth a grin.

Does anyone find it curious that someone who HAS succeeded by dint of his own efforts now begins espousing socialism? There's no way that that twit from Poplar Bluff, MO is THAT good in the sack.
