Hillary: We'll take your money for 'common good'

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

Addressing a Democratic fund-raiser yesterday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., told wealthy supporters the government will need to take money away from them for the "common good."

Clinton headlined an appearance with other women Democratic senators in San Francisco, where donors gave as much as $10,000 to California Sen. Barbara Boxer's campaign.

"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Clinton said, according to the Associated Press. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you.

"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Christine Iverson told WorldNetDaily that Americans should take careful note of Clinton's remarks.

"This is John Kerry's Democratic party," she said. "Small-business owners and taxpayers all across America should be very, very concerned."

Kerry and Clinton, Iverson said, are people who "believe the government knows how to spend your own money better than you do."

Iverson acknowledged Clinton's use of the term "common good" was telling, evoking the language of Karl Marx, who envisioned a society that distributes wealth "from each according to ability, to each according to need."

In her book, "Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton," the late author Barbara Olson wrote, in Clinton's "formative years, Marxism was a very important part of her ideology."

Olson described the senator growing up as a "budding Leninist" who "understood the Leninist concept of acquiring, accumulating and maintaining political power at any cost."

The Washington, D.C.-based Americans for Tax Reform responded to Clinton's remarks, saying, "When it comes to tax policy, liberal politicians often try to hide their true colors."

"There you have it: Hillary Clinton, the soul of the Democratic Party, talking about taxpayers’ money like it's hers," said Americans for Tax Reform head Grover Norquist. "What insufferable arrogance – it's as though our taxes are hers to spend!"

Her Marxist views should endear her to Michael Moore.

Both the liberals and the media have dropped any attempt to disguise who they really are. It's a good thing for them to stand in the light.

My guess is their hatred has blinded them and they cannot see what they are doing ... hehehehe

So the Bitch of Kosovo isn't satisfied with being the faithful senator from New Yarkansas, eh? And Billy Goat won't keep his fat mouth shut either.

How this society spawned such evil people who destroy everything they touch and who are surrounded by corpses of people who knew things about them and yet, these people, continue to fawn over the likes of this national disgrace and scandal!

These are the same people, of course, that stand in long, long lines waiting to see Michael Moore's political hitman piece of GWB and the same who would stand in drenching rain waiting for the Pervert President to autograph their books.

The Clintons and their millions of worshippers are a national disgrace and are a source of much sorry and stomach cramps for us to continue to have to watch them prance across the stage of contemporary America never to go until it's time for them to be buried in their pit or crypt and begin their journey downward into the hell that surely awaits them....and all their freaking sycophants

The terrible conclusion that one must reach is that Hillary Clinton does not realize the terrible acts that have been done and can be done in the name of "the common good." Her lack of understanding makes her dangerous.

The only common good Hillary Clinton could perform would be to submit her resignation as a United States Senator and promise never to return to public life.

"Both the liberals and the media have dropped any attempt to disguise who they really are. It's a good thing for them to stand in the light."

Or are they about the seize power by doing something or cooperating with something that would defeat President Bush and the Conservatives.

Remember, Marxists are objectivists and relativists. They have no constraints of conscience, ethics, or civility.

I agree. She just put a bullet in any designs she had to be president. No wonder the right looks so "vast" a conspiracy. It includes everyone to the right of Lennin and Stalin.

Are you comparing Marx to Rand? I just want to better understand your point......

I think everywhere you look the shrillness of the leftist's lies are becoming silly and boring. I doubt there is anything they can do to 'seize power'. What do you have in mind?

All you have to do is look to CA for guidance. AS has turned around CA and the people know it. A causal survey of business associates says everyone is beginning to notice the tax cuts are working and the economy is back. ... and it's all Bush's fault :-}

There's a big difference between "millionaire Clinton" and millionaire business owners. Clinton didn't risk any of his money to become rich and didn't create any jobs to speak of. Business people risk their money every day, create jobs and wealth for other people and are never guaranteed a profit.

You folks are missing something, and the story didnt mention it either, How many of those people she just told that she was going to rob them , stood and cheered and clapped for her?

Hillary may be the Judas goat but the sheep are at fault for her existence.

I really can't understand why Dems love her so much when she is obviously undermining their chance for victory in November. Is she intentionally scuttling the Kerry campaign?

In an effort to understand how anyone could support her, I searched DU to find some comment justifying or praising her statement. (I searched as well as I could manually since their 'Search' feature is reserved for donators only--- another reason Freerepublic is a superior forum)

Anyway, could not find one single thread or comment defending or supporting her position. It's like they don't even realize she is out there exposing their Socialist agenda. Or perhaps they are too embarrassed to stand behind her?

It defies logical explanation.

But one thing I did learn on DU:
They hate Maria Shriver intensely.
One said the Kennedy family should disown her.
Also from the same post:
I also think your public political views are more important than your marriage.

I wonder if they realize she is merely a network news personality and not an elected official.
