“I’m not even a fan of Michael Moore; I think he’s a jerk,” Siegel said."

So why the heck did you give him your money by going to see this piece of trash?

There are always cops at theaters in my city. They enforce loitering laws, watch for robberies, pickpockets and such. Mainly they are there to watch for drug dealing inside theaters and gang activity. If you get a gang inside a dark theater where the audio is turned up so loud you can't hear someone call for help, you can have problems.

Yes, but if the theater allows children into a pornographic movie like Moore's, they could open themselves to lawsuits from parents. They might just be trying to protect themselves. There's no sexual material in the movie.

I say again, why are conservatives putting a dime into Moore's pockets?

I meant "pornographic" in the 3rd sense:
Main Entry: por·nog·ra·phy
Pronunciation: -fE
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek pornographos, adjective, writing about
prostitutes, from pornE prostitute + graphein to write;
akin to Greek pernanai to sell, poros journey -- more at
FARE, CARVE
1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or
writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic
behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement
3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to
arouse a quick intense emotional reaction
- por·no·graph·ic /"por-n&-'gra-fik/ adjective
- por·no·graph·i·cal·ly /-fi-k(&-)lE/ adverb

And in this sense, Moore's film is definitely pornographic.

There is an additional issue. What prevents the police from reporting the name of a parent who escorts their children into R-rated movies to the "Child Protection Service"? Why not trigger an investigation into the harmful influences being encouraged by such parents?

Just because you have a right to take your children into an R-rated movie doesn't mean that the "do-gooders" won't use it as an opportunity to take over your life.

Gotcha. But thats not the sense in which we keep kids away from porn.

Yes, I was making a play on the dual meaning of the word.
