Hezbolah at the UN????? (Jed Babbin on Hannity)
Hannity.

Posted on 06/30/2004 2:34:30 PM PDT by ArmyBratproud

Here in my area we get Hannity on an hour delay. So many of you have already heard what I just heard. Oliver North is sitting in for Hannity on the radio and he is interviewing Jed Babbin (who seems to be some former official and a UN Expert). If I heard correctly, Babbin just mentioned that there is a Hezbolah contingent at the United Nations. Did anybody else hear this interview? Did I hear this correctly? If so, I am not shocked to hear that terrorists are getting paid $270,000+(keep in mind the UN gets US money) a year to camp out at the UN. Babbin also commented on Iranians who were at the UN over the past 5 years and have been booted out of the US because they were actually using their UN cover to case the US for terrorist attacks. He also commented on the Multi Billion Dollar Food for Oil UN Scandal. Babbin has just written a book titled, "Inside the Asylum, Why the UN and Old Europe Are Worst Than You Think".

Again, did anyone else hear the interview?

Jed Babbin was a deputy undersecretary of defense in the first Bush Administration. Writes excellent editorials.

He also said at the UN building in the "occupied territory" there was a Hezbolah flag flying next to the UN flag. I would like to get that pic...

I don't think there is a Hezbollah contingent to the UN. It's conceivable (if not likely) that the Syria contingent to the UN is sympathetic to Hezbollah, but only states are allowed to be members, and since Hezbollah isn't a state...

But the flag thing is definitely something I've heard before.

That scares me.
OK Freepers....we have to dig in for the fight...If Kerry wins....the UN will have control of our national defense...because Kerry says that's who he'll run to.
If Kerry wins, we are as good as dead.

They just had a guy on Hannity (with the Col. and Babbin) who called in and mentioned that he has a buddy in an area with UN peace keepers (use that term lightly...just ask the recent dead in Kosovo area). He mentioned something about US troops having to remove American insignia (including Flag) when they work there.

Hezbollah is already well represented in the UN.

Crimony!!! When will dems learn that they are siding with folks who seem to have no problem aiding terrorism.

Hezbollah is already well represented in the UN.

The spirit of Hezbollah is unquestionably represented, if not the actual Hezbollah terrorists themselves.

Jed Babbin is also known for saying that "going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion."

What I found amazing listening to North on the radio is the fact that the UN has set up a peacekeeping school in Ghana, which is on property owned by the Kofi Annan family. If this is true, it should be grounds for his immediate dismissal.

At Kibbutz Manara there is a UN observer post. Only a narrow road separates the kibbutz from Lebanese territory. UN troops from Ghana stand in the small complex of buildings and maintain a bored watch over the frontier. Though they observe the goings-on as required, they are unwilling to reveal any details. An Israeli officer obtains permission for me to visit the fortified "Tsiporen" military post. The ugly concrete building stands on a windswept hill. There are about 30 such structures along the border, from the Mediterranean to the Golan Heights, standing like Crusader castles every few kilometers, always within sight of one another. Near the border hovers a dirigible packed with early-warning and surveillance equipment. Since the Israeli withdrawal from South Lebanon there has been no more no-man's land, because the towns and kibbutzim have expanded right up to the demarcation line (which did not then exist) – and sometimes beyond it.

Now the border must be protected without benefit of buffer zones. A mere five meters from the concrete post building, a yellow Hizballah flag flutters in the wind. I'm told that Hizballah men often come right up to the fence to mock the soldiers. But they wisely carry no weapons, according to First Lieutenant Mitch Pilcer, because the Israeli army would immediately fire on armed individuals.

But the provocations go well beyond such minor annoyances. That is made evident by a meter-sized poster set up right by the border fence, which says "Sharon, remember: We still hold Israeli soldiers" in both Hebrew and Arabic characters, and over it a photo of a Hizballah fighter holding the decapitated head of an Israeli soldier triumphantly in the air. According to a Lieutenant Ran, in the past two weeks Hizballah snipers have fired across the border almost daily. Sometimes between 200 and 300 shells per hour strike Israeli soil. When he can make out the firing site with his telescope, says the Israeli officer, he calls in air strikes against it. But Israeli counterattacks are hampered, he says, by the fact that Hizballah often deliberately puts its launch ramps next to a residential building, knowing very well that Israel wants to avoid unnecessary civilian victims.

__________

More likely a Hezbolah flag flying next to the UN building. This is Hezbollah territory and I guess they fly their freaky flag next to the UN building. There are Hezbollah flags flying at all the high points there (Southern Lebanon) including historic crusader castles.

Yes, I agree. Annan is a crook. He tries to pin the blame for the demise of the UN on others...but it seems the biggest UN scandals and foul ups have happened under his watch. He seems to use the place for his personal cash registar. The US State Department should expel him.
