We are a tiny country whose whole history has been fraught with war and the disapproval of the world and yet the inventions to benefit humanity go on and on.

Smaller forces facing larger, anachronistic enemies have to fight smarter. This was true of the German military in 1939, and true of the Israeli military today, and to some extent the USA. Technological Blitzkrieg is the future.
What I'm really hoping for is technology to short circuit improvised munitions, either detonating them prematurely or jamming them until its safe.
