Statement by Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) Regarding Why John Kerry is Wrong for Minnesota

WASHINGTON, DC - Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) issued the following statement regarding why John Kerry is wrong for Minnesota:

"The more than 19,000 jobs created in Minnesota during April and May alone means that President Bush's pro-growth policies are working. America's economy is strong and growing stronger, and the 1.5 million new jobs created over the past ten months show just how detached John Kerry's pessimistic rhetoric is from reality.

"While John Kerry wants to severely restrict snowmobile use in state and national parks, Minnesotans understand the importance of a balanced approach that protects our valuable natural resources while allowing snowmobile use where appropriate.

"The people of our state respect Second Amendment rights for gun owners, but not much has changed since Kerry circled 'yes' in response to a question asking for his view on 'prohibiting private possession of handguns' during his first Senate campaign. Kerry's record on the Second Amendment speaks for itself: he received an 'F' rating from Gun Owners of America for the 108th Congress and was given an 'F' on the most recent National Rifle Association report card. John Kerry views the gun ownership issue as an opportunity for appealing to his liberal base; Minnesotans understand that it's wrong to play politics with our constitutional rights.

"While Minnesotans stand behind our troops, John Kerry voted for the Iraq War, but then voted against $87 billion in funding to equip our troops with essential supplies like body armor. Kerry previously said that it would be 'irresponsible' not to provide the funding, and later provided the ridiculous explanation that he had voted for the $87 billion before he voted against it. When the Senate had to decide on whether to send an additional $25 billion in support, Kerry said he would support it, but was absent when the votes were cast. Our brave men and women bringing the fight to the enemy should have their President's unwavering support."

I do hope that this does not mean the the kerrorists will not be supporting the upcoming "Thank God, Paul Wellstone Is Still Dead Festival and Deceased Voter Registration Drive!" The kerrorists are the ones who bring all the booze, drugs and loose woman and really turn a solemn affair into a good old drunken brawl.

Tim Pawlenty is a real breath of fresh air in this sewer of a political climate!
We really need to help him succeed, whichever direction his career takes him.
