Ronnie Touched So Many Of Us 7/04/04
Nancy Reagan
In the last 30 days I have experienced an extraordinary outpouring of sympathy and love from old friends and new across the country and around the world. So much has happened to warm the hearts of everyone in my family. It is not easy to find a way to express our appreciation. Ronnie would have said, "Just tell them." So, although it has been the saddest and most difficult of times, I want you to know that we are comforted by the prayers, the support and all the love.
So many people played a role in making the funeral events possible, and I wish I could thank each and every one of you individually. To those of you who honored my husband by participating, you have my deep appreciation. He would have been proud of your loyalty and humbled by the tremendous expression of affection.

How can it be? Simple pictures of Americans standing by the side of a wet road, flags flying bring tears?
How could this simple man evoke such love for him and our country?
Proud to be American.
Beautiful memorial site BTTT
Got me teared up again but what a nice collection of pictures, some I have not seen before.
Ronald Reagan was staunchly pro-life, you and Nancy should respect his beliefs.
Nancy doesn't mention stem cells in this letter. Why do you mention it after reading such a beautiful, gracious letter? President Reagan had definite opinions on human life and he would not have wanted lives sacrificed for his.
Stem Cells An Unlikely Therapy for Alzheimer's

"But the infrequently voiced reality, stem cell experts confess, is that, of all the diseases that may someday be cured by embryonic stem cell treatments, Alzheimer's is among the least likely to benefit."
Here are some more quotes by Reagan on the value of every human life:

Thank you, EB.
Reagan himself was AGAINST embryonic stem cell research. He didn't believe we should use human beings for their parts. I think he would have supported adult and umbilical cord stem cell research as neither involve destroying a living being to accomplish. Also, both have been more successful in trials than embryonic cell research.

Michael Reagan was on CNN last night talking about Nancy and stem cell. His response was awesome. He said she has proven herself in the political arena. This is just too close to her emotionally. If she fights stem cell research, it is her emotional battle. He said he will fight THIS political battle. He said it with love, respect and admiration. It really made me appreciate her all the more. God Bless Nancy.
I love it, too. I couldn't remember when it was performed. I thought it was during the ceremony in the in the Rotunda. Thanks for keeping the record straight. :o)
