Halliburton Employee Fails to See the Handwriting on the Wall
Houston Cron, Letters | 7/06/2004 | Beverly Scippa

Halliburton and Proud

I was appalled by John Kerry's request of his supporters to begin a letter campaign against Halliburton. As a Democrat,(sp;DUMOCRAT) I plan to vote for Kerry, but I am also a very proud Halliburton employee. Halliburton employs more than 100,000 people around the world, and in many of the towns and cities where we work, we are the largest employer and a valuble member of the community. We are a diverse company, and employees care about the work we do and about the communities in which we live.

Since 2001, Halliburton employees have raised approximately $4 million for charities nationwide through our employee giving campaigns. I am proud to be a Halliburton employee and work with the best of the best.

We have many important issues facing our nation and I implore Kerry to talk about the issues that real people face instead of politicizing Halliburton for a good sound bite.

Beverly Scippa, Houston

This is the perfect example of a Dumocrat Kool-aid drinker. Just as the Clinton Administration tried to destroy Microsoft. Kerry as President, has signaled his corporate target is going to be Halliburton. This woman can sing the praises of her employer all she wants, If Kerry becomes President she in all likelihood will lose her JOB. She has been warned, she will join the ranks of the unemployed if she cast her vote for Kerry.

Your exactly correct. I know, because my biz partner is a died in the wool democrat. It makes no difference to the kool aid drinkers of the left.

hmmm....I did not know about this letter writing campaign request from Kerry. Does anyone know who the letters are addressed to?
And it's not just Kerry - the entire left would love to take Halliburton down. Halliburton needs to publicize the contract won from the Clinton administration and the award given to them by then VP Gore. They need to get off the defensive or they get what the demos are spewing out.

The second they go on the offense, the evil Dums start yelling about Halliburton, working for Bush. Unlike MM and his filthy movie. He's an "artist", Halliburton is an EVIL Corp.

I have come to the conclusion that there is a suicide cult in Houston, from Enron employees that KNEW what was happening would leave them unemployed and homeless, to this Halliburton employee that will vote for the one person that will try to destroy her employer. And it won't do her any good to pull a Cheney. Kerry would tell her that if she had good leftist/commie/socialist/fascist/ evil Dum credentials she wouldn't be working for this EVIL CORP anyway.

Lets come up with an analogous phrase, like

"As an Proud American, I support and sympathize with the Al Queada Struggle".

Um, let's see, Kerry and the entire democrat crew is consistantly slamming Halliburton, this woman works for Halliburton and is proud of it, yet she plans to vote for the guy who wants to close down her company. I guess then she'll be wailing about being unemployed.

I would NOT have a biz partner that had opposing views of politics. Political decisions today are affecting business owners more than ever in the nation's history. I personally believe that you are spending alot of your time and energy off-setting his beliefs when you could move your business forward using the same energy. Why not just buy him out and have a clear path? I offer this opinion with the background of being a bookkeeper for small businesses for over 30 years.

Yes the suicide cult is alive and well in Houston. Sometimes I wonder what planet Dumocrats are living on.

Amen to that! The Chamber of Commerce has just had a seizure over Edwards nomination. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. The "little" guy is in danger. Evil Dums always say they support hard working americns. But, that is code for trial Lawyers and Wall Street money men.

1. Politics don't affect our day to day operations in the least. 2. Outside of his laughable dedication to the Democratic Party and its notions, he's a great business partner, and the best in my industry at what he does. 3. We use a very well respected accounting firm (SS&G here in Southern Ohio).

The differing political view is a result of where both of us were raised. He grew up in the ghetto of Cincinnati - Over the Rhine. I grew up in the eastern burb's.

The only thing the differing political viewpoint does is give one of us "bragging rights" after each election. However, I should note that after Clinton's odious exit from the Whitehouse, even he became disenchanted - which is really earth shattering if you knew just how vociferously he defended the Impeached One in the past.

I like to think my sucess in business is a result of my belief that differing opinions keep you well rounded. Bottom line is I wouldn't trade my biz partner for any man alive, regardless of political beliefs. I trust him with my life, my family, and "his" end of the business.

That trust has been rewarded with a guaranteed income for the rest of my days here on earth, as well as my family, his family, our staff and associates.

Outside of that....I completely agree with your viewpoint.....(grin)

Just kidding.

And if Kerry is elected, and if, because of his demonizing this company it is forced to have layoffs and she is one of the unlucky ones, somehow the libs and she will find a way to blame it on Bush.

Just watch - were Kerry to beat Bush this November, everything bad that happens under his watch will be because of what Bush did.

the letter writer is not the only kool aid drinker at Halliburton. There are several in upper management who dislike Bush. If this weren't such a serious matter, it could be amusing.
The left, aka demos, love to think they can connect the dots with Cheney and Halliburton. What they don't know, is that many within Halliburton's upper echelon blame Cheney (like he did it all by himself) for acquiring Dresser Industries (KBR)which, with the asbestos lawsuits, etc. have cost Halli big $$ along with a stock slide. Don't be surprised if KBR doesn't go on the sale block.
But this won't be the first time the demos have shot themselves in their own foot.
Did I thank you for posting this thread?

No problem. I don't post very often( hardly ever), but this just really infuriated me. Interesting about Dresser, that use to be a good company. I hope these Dums at the top have obtained their offshore bank accounts. the Kerry machine is already planning to make them the Poster people for the EVIL CORP. Maybe the law firms in Houston should be sending them their business cards. hehehehe

It doesn't seem to matter if Kerry committed atrocities in Vietnam nor if he help North Vietnam against the United States. Even quoting 'Our Democracy is a farce' doesn't phase democrats.

No the people we've got to work with are independents and fence sitting republicans. If the democrats won't listen to Zell Miller or Ed Koch they're stuck with Kerry unless Hillary says she wants it. If Hillary says 'boo' to the press, Kerry is toast.

Don't be so sure about that. If Kerry was as all popular and teflon coated as the Liberal media would have us believe, he wouldn't be struggling EVERYDAY to just stay in the race with GW. I don't believe Bush is going to lose. When it comes right down to IT. al qaeda, and sundry terrorist want Kerry to win, so they can attack us over and over again with impunity.
