Ken Lay was also a Clinton buddy...

It's interesting that Enron committed fraud under Clinton, but Bush is prosecuting him.

Of course, the MSM will ignore this fact.

its up to Bush to make that point. When Bush talks about the corporate scandals, he never mentions when they occurred. the sheeple think this stuff occurred on his watch. I am serious, I work with these idiots, they think everything under Clinton was just peachy since they were day trading Iomega and making money on it - they believe that's how a real economy works.

The ONLY time Ken Lay ever spent the night at the White House or Camp David was with Bill Clinton.

Last week, a female co-worker who I sometimes ride the bus with emailed me an anti-Bush email saying - among other things - that Bush was "protecting" Lay and other Enron executives. She got mad (and now refuses to talk to me)when I pointed that was a lie and that several Enron executives were already indicted. I'll resist the temptation to email her the news about Kenny Boy.

So will some alleged "conservatives" on FR, who constantly accused the Bush administration of letting the big fish go while concentrating on the little fish. Lay was a frequent example.

I'm glad you point that out. I'm about to go collect a $25 bet I made with a Liberal co-worker who said he'd never be prosecuted. I had to explain that you go for the little fish first and work your way up the chain.

He kept chiding me for Lay/Bush being buddies -- until I read an article that said he and Clinton were thick. I think he was surprised that I found that out. He hasn't uttered a word since.

Clinton also had Halliburton as a "priviledged" contractor who didn't have to submit bids each time because Halliburton did such outstanding work for the U.S. Government.

But we never hear either of those in today's left-wing biased media, do we?

Ken Lay was everyone's buddy...

Since 1989, Enron and Lay had been major backers of the Republican Party and President George W. Bush, whose Justice Department is now responsible for his prosecution. Lay and Enron gave almost $6 million in federal contributions between 1989 and the company's collapse, the Center for Responsive Politics said.

Lay, who met privately with Vice President Dick Cheney in 2001 to discuss energy policy, helped raise $312,500 for President Bush's two Texas gubernatorial campaigns, according to the nonpartisan Texans for Public Justice. Enron and its employees contributed $113,800 to Bush's 2000 presidential campaign, Federal Election Commission Records show.

It's interesting that Enron committed fraud under Clinton, but Bush is prosecuting him. Of course, the MSM will ignore this fact.

Nearly all the corporate fraud which rocked Wall Street in 2001 and 2002 occurred in the late 1990s when the Clintoon administration's Securities & Exchange Commission stuck their head in the sand out of fear of hurting the stock market.

With President GWB's election, the adults were back in charge and as a result we are seeing the prosecutions we should have been seeing throughout the stock market bubble from 1996-2000.

For once, JUST ONCE, I want President Bush or one of his cabinet or aids to STAND UP during a press conference and tell the world that IT IS HE who is cleaning up the mess which occurred during Clinton, but is now being rooted out by the Bush Justice Department.

Sometimes I think GWB has a problem taking credit for things out of fear it would be boasting.

Sure he talks about the great economy but he must grow some balls if he expects to break through the partisan noise currently being slimmed around by the partisan media and the Democrat flackies.

It is really frustrating.
