HONDO, N.M. (AP) - Three people were found slain on a New Mexico ranch owned by ABC newsman Sam Donaldson, authorities said Wednesday. Sheriff Tom Sullivan said Donaldson went to the house of his ranch manager on Tuesday and discovered an "obvious crime scene."
Once sheriff's deputies searched the area, they found the bodies of a male and two females, he said. Their identities were not released.
Sullivan said Donaldson was not a suspect and was cooperating with the investigation.
Donaldson owns three ranches in New Mexico and has extensive ties to the state. He grew up on a cotton farm in New Mexico and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
Where was Donaldson at the time these people were killed?
Donaldson seems a bit strict about trespassing.
Illegals?
Hondo, half way between Tularosa and Roswell, just East of Ruidoso...gorgeous country.
Is it fair to assume that since the foreman's house obviously looked like a crime had ocurred there, that the foreman was the male body they found?
No more details, yet?
Doesn't everybody have dead bodies on their ranches....
Illegals? you mean Sam? He has that sneaky way about him..catch those side glances....maybe he has something
to hide.....Vegas is laying odds that they are Republicans...Sam knows a lawyer ot two...LOL..Jake

July 7, 2004 Three bodies were found at a New Mexico ranch owned by ABC newsman Sam Donaldson, and authorities said they were treating the case as a triple homicide.
The bodies of a man and two women were found Tuesday on Donaldson's remote ranch north of Hondo, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said.
"My wife Jan and I are shocked by the apparent triple homicide that took place on our ranch in Hondo, New Mexico, sometime over the Fourth of July weekend while we were away in Santa Fe," Donaldson said in a statement. "We understand the investigation is continuing, and we have been asked by authorities not to comment further at this time."
Donaldson called the sheriff's department at 5 p.m. Tuesday after he went to the house of his ranch manager and found an "obvious crime scene," Sheriff Tom Sullivan said.
Sheriff's deputies sent to the ranch searched the area and found the bodies in a shallow grave, Sullivan said. The victims' identities were being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Donaldson and his wife are not suspects, Sullivan said.
Donaldson's ranch is in the south-central part of the state, between Roswell and Ruidoso. He is a native of El Paso, Texas, and his father bought farmland in New Mexico in 1910. Donaldson has added to the property over the years.
Donaldson joined ABC News in 1967 and covered the administrations of presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan as chief White House correspondent. He also was the anchor of World News Sunday and hosted news programs including This Week and Primetime Live.
Well, 'On' implies they haven't been buried yet... but yeah!
Think about it. John Kerry is a pilot. He would know how to disable the Heinz plane. And Teresa would know where her husband John Heinz was going. It all fits!
I bet Sam Donaldson has interviewed both Teresa and John Kerry. And there is some kind of sick link between them. Maybe sexual? And these other people were involved? It's a sure thing!

Does he usually live there?
Note the absence of any mention of his prior problems with hiring illegals on his ranch.
PING
The burning question now is what does Sam know and when did he know it. And....did faulty intelligence lead to this crime occuring on his property?
Leni
Shocked! I tell you.
We had no idea that our manager was patrolling the ranch for illegal border crossers and raping the women.
The organization's website said they just hold the Mexicans until the INS arrives.
lol. (interesting first thought you have there)
Three dead slain people on my property... I'd be uncomfortable with the security there and would sell or just NOT be there for a long time.
