Pasadena police busted an illegal immigration operation based out of a house Wednesday afternoon, officials told News2Houston.
Officers said they were making a welfare check at the 1500 block of Sheridan when a woman refused to open the door around 4:45 p.m.
When officers went inside, they found 34 illegal immigrants in hot and closed-off back rooms.
The immigrants are from several different countries, including Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador (news -web sites) and Mexico.
The immigrants have been in Houston since the weekend, and complained of being fed only once a day and kept in hot rooms.
Immigration officials were called to the scene to investigate.
No word yet on any charges.
Anyone else want to bet that any 'charges' brought by LEO will have nothing to do with the illegals?
What? No Canadians?
Not in Houston. They prefer using the front door. </ sarcasm>
Hey, look at this. It's not OUR Pasadena!

Darned good question. According to the article, the matter has been turned over to immigration officials, probably Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol.
If this was Pasadena CA, then you can bet the woman who answered the door would be arrested on felony smuggling (slave trading) charges and the illegals would be deported.
I don't think ICE/BP has a positive track record in Texas...yet.
Especially since Bush and Tom Ridge have taken the door off its hinges.
Don't forget, poor Asa Hutchinson is receiving so many faxes, e-mails and phone calls that he can no longer do his job. Whatever job he thought that was. >/sarcasm<
Y'know, I've been pondering a good response to folks who say we can't close the border to illegal immigrants because the Canadian border is so long.
One of the things I'd like to know is how many hospitals in Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine have had to close their doors because of deadbeat illegals? I'll bet the state of Arizona alone has closed more hospitals/hospital services than all of those states combined!
And trust me, that's not xenophobia. That is a statement of fact, pure and simple.
Oops, forgot to mention...
We've closed one trauma center in Tucson and 3 OB wards in Cochise County. I'm betting that's still 100% more than any of those other border states!

Yep. I totally agree. God forbid they would actually do the job they swore an oath to do.</ sarcasm>
Same thing in California. Trying to get any treatment at an emergency room is a nightmare because you have to wait in line behind the illegal aliens who are getting treated free of charge for everything from a runny nose to dandruff. A friend of mine who works in a local ER says that an illegal alien even came in asking for Viagra! Yeah, that's a real emergency...
Additionally, Mr. Antonovich notes that these children now account for 30 percent of all AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children) cases in Los Angeles County.
The only medical facility in so many places is nothing more than a small building with a reception room, a doctor's office and a small surgery. It is a one size fits all facility.
Rather than try to get insurance or save money for a doctor, the illegals (and many military dependents in my town) simply go to their one-stop medical shop - the ER - to get what they know is free treatment.
It really pi$$es off honest folks. Short story. A lady came up here to pay for her sister's hospital stay to have a baby. She paid over $2000 in cash. The cashier found out afterwards that the bill was in error and the lady had underpaid by $19. The Mexican lady was adamant in letting the cashier know she was going to come back right away (from Mexico) to make it up, because she was "not one of those Mexicans who never pay their bills."
I wonder how many of them have families that drive brand new Cadillacs? 'Nother short story.
We had an admissions clerk bend over backwards to get taxpayer-subsidized urgent mercy care for an older Mexican lady (with 2 mafia-looking sons) because the hospital administration insisted she do so. When the family left, it was in a 2004 Sedan De Ville, midnight blue with gold trim.
A rarity, HJ. Isn't it amazing that they can just stroll back and forth from Mexico to America? And that they always manage to have their babies here where there are plenty of welfare benefits?
Reminds me of the Vietnamese people (Orange County, CA) who used to bring their aged parents into the orthopaedic office where I worked. They would drive up in Mercedes Benz autos, dressed in expensive clothes, yet the parents were all on Medi-Cal. They could have paid for the treatment, but preferred that California taxpayers foot the bill instead. The California tit is HUGE.
It really boils down to vote pandering, doesn't it. I fear we're next...

I live in NM so I'm very much aware of the problems ALL states who border with Mexico have. We've got over 46% LEGAL Mexicans, so only God knows how many illegals we have. With the recent crackdown in AZ & CA, Mexicans are using NM as the easiest crossing into the country. Our half Mexican Governor is working with Fox to expand trade and ease relations between NM and MX.("Ya'll illegals, come on up we'll give you a job and if you don't want to work, we'll give you welfare, free medical and food stamps."
As far as Canada goes, I saw the documentary that Fox News had on and we are getting more Muslims (terrorists) coming in through that border. They showed just how easy it is to cross the Canadian/US border. The bottom line is that our government is NOT abiding by our own laws. When the border patrol did make the recent inland arrests, the government got mad, so what are we going to do? Nothing, pure and simple.
Well, ICE/BP has just started testing the use of UAVs here in Cochise County. They're a year late and $2 Million short, but it's not nothing.
The proof will be whether or not they respond to the squeeze. Our regional director, Nicly (Nice-lee), used to be a sector chief in San Diego. He knows the consequences of spot enforcement. It remains to be seen if he positions assets in the Animas Valley and near Columbus.
"Have you heard about how Tom Ridge is protecting us with Homeland Security so tight that he's proud of his airports being secured? Let me give you a reality check. I spent two weeks on the Texas, New Mexico and Arizona border a month ago. Illegals DRIVE their cars over the border by the thousands daily. They can and do walk over the border for miles. There is a pick-up system better than UPS and Greyhound. Smugglers pick up and deliver with precision clockwork. Homeland Security is the laughing stock of the terrorist world!"
All of the above courtesy of our US Government who are almost to the man or woman, promoting the destruction of America.
