"They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people." Exactly, that*s why we NEED them! Foreign or domestic.

Unbelievable! Where's the Taxachusetts Supreme Court when you need them.

The more I hear about Mark Sanford, the more I like him. He just may be the one in 08. We'll have to see.

Don't these people ever read their own States Constitutions? Much less the Federal Constitution?
Article XVII. The people have a right to keep and to bear arms for the common defence. And as, in time of peace, armies are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be maintained without the consent of the legislature; and the military power shall always be held in an exact subordination to the civil authority, and be governed by it.
The very type of firearm this moron just outlawed is the very type their Constitution tells them they have a RIGHT to have.

As much as I like Mitt, doing this permanently disqualifies him for the Presidency. He should also be voted out of office.

He should be impeached for crimes against the Constitution of the State of Massachusetts. If this isn't a blatant violation, then I don't know what is.

IMO, the kiss of death for any national career for the scumbag, Romney-The-RINO.
He just accomplished what the British couldn't, over the Colonists.
Sad day for MA.

This is truly a great day for Massachusetts sportsmen and women, said Senator Stephen M. Brewer. These reforms correct some serious mistakes that were made during the gun debate in 1998, when many of our states gun owners were stripped of their long-standing rights to own firearms. I applaud Senate President Travaglini for allowing the Senate to undertake this necessary legislation. But they were stripped of the right to own these guns. Of course they tout this as a win for gun owners with : Extending the term of a firearm identification card and a license to carry firearms from four years to six years; Granting a 90-day grace period for holders of firearm identification cards and licenses to carry who have applied for renewal; and Creating a seven-member Firearm License Review Board to review firearm license applications that have been denied. Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmens groups and gun safety advocates. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people. Thanks to the sportsmen, maybe some gun owners need to back banning certain hunting as retribution for this. Not made for recreation huh, ever hear of hi-power competitions? Not made for self-defense huh, why not they shoot bullets just like other guns. What makes them different from other guns, other than their looks?

Polidiots pretend to not understand. It's not about hunting or sport. It's about the last safeguard of liberty and freedom and the survival of our republic. It's about killing enemies , foreign and
domestic. Polidiots and presstitutes know who these enemies are and are in self defense mode. I have firearms for harvesting food for my family and for sport. But I also maintain firearms for self defense. These weapons are for killing those trying to kill or severely injure "me" or mine. That IMO is what the 2nd is about and the sportsman groups or "safety" advocates can kiss old brown spot right on his pink nose if they think we don't know what they are up to !
Doom on these seditious socialists........

I suppose that the next history texts will merely state that Paul Revere was a silversmith."Who's Paul Revere? Was he one of N Sync?" ~ signed, a government indoctrinated, public-schooled child of the year 2004.

Unbelievable! Where's the Taxachusetts Supreme Court when you need them. They are WORSE than the Governor. It's best they keep their liberal noses out of it. By the time they got through, the only thing left would be your rope and I think we're going to be needing it to hang all the traitors before long. LOL!

These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people. This idiot has obviously not fired any of the weapons banned in this act. I happen to know that at least on gun on the banned list is a fairly popular rifle to carry in the deer woods around here - the SKS. The few times I have talked my wife into deer hunting with me, that's what she carried - low recoil, reasonably accurate within a reasonable range, and cheap to shoot.
And anyone who supports such unconstitutional laws as this have no right to call themselves "sportsmen".

He's obviously signaled he never wants to be considered for the Presidency. The Senate, yes, but not the Presidency.
