Outrage over New York Fundraiser Follows Kerry-Edwards to the South
George W. Bush ^ | July 10, 2004

Posted on 07/10/2004 3:24:06 PM PDT by RWR8189

Charlotte, NC/Arlington, VA—Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory today called on the Kerry-Edwards campaign to release the unedited tape of a controversial fundraiser Thursday in New York.

"Last week, Senator Kerry told Mid-western voters that he shared their 'conservative values.' This week, when celebrities called the President a 'thug' and made sexual innuendos with the President's name, Kerry said they represented 'the heart and soul of our country.' This is just the latest example of Kerry telling different things to different crowds. The Kerry campaign should release the tape from his fundraiser to allow North Carolina voters to decide for themselves if the Kerry campaign represents their values,” said Mayor McCrory.

"While John Kerry had time to join this hate-fest fundraiser in New York City, earlier that day, he claimed that he hadn't 'had time' to be briefed on recent security threats,” continued McCrory. “John Kerry has been ranked the senate's most liberal member and in choosing Senator Edwards, he chose the senate's fourth most liberal member. The voters of North Carolina wouldn't have sent John Edwards back to the senate, and they're not going to send John Kerry to the White House. It's clear that Kerry and Edwards's priorities and values are outside the mainstream of both North Carolina and America."

On a Bush-Cheney ’04 conference call on Friday, U.S. Senator Zell Miller (D-GA) discussed the Kerry fundraiser and said, “…John Kerry held a fundraiser in New York that featured performers in a time of war calling the President of the United States 'a cheap thug' and 'a liar.' John Kerry just sat there, grinning like a mule eating briars.

"Far from condemning this display of hatred, he said their remarks represented the 'heart and soul' of our country. These are not the values of Southern voters. These are not the values of rural voters, and this is just another example of how far out of the mainstream Senator Kerry really is,” stated Miller.

I was watching Edwards on Fox News and he struck me in a negative way - like a reject from the film "The Long Hot Summer" -- like a stereotype rich kid with a big mouth and too-long hair -- forgive me, I'm rambling tonite!

Why is it that Kerry and Edwards can't keep their hands off each other? Every photo op, they're running into each others' arms. Do their wives know?!

I DON'T know! It is too weird for words. Maybe they think it'll help the gay vote.

"Vote for me. I'm NOT George W. Bush." That's just about all they've got in their platform.

I am glad that some of our NC politicians are speaking out against Kerry-Edwards ticket.

Has Elizabeth Dole said anything yet? How about Jesse Helms?

When Johnny comes marching home again,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give him a hearty welcome then
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The men will cheer and the boys will shout
The ladies they will all turn out
And we'll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.

[No disrespect to the brave souls to whom the song has been dedicated over the years.]

You need to add this one to your fine list :-)

Your post above with all of the quotes from democrats regarding the danger that Iraq poses just burns me....their hypocrisy only SURVIVES because the mainstream press no longer cares whether democrats lie, openly, as long as it is meant to destroy a Republican.

All of America has the RIGHT to know the words these celebrated elitist democrats have used in the past, the words that demonstrate how they agreed with the very conclusion our President, upon attaining office, came to understand and act upon.

These people are poison.

They hurt our nation, and the press helps them every inch of the way. But boy oh boy...when the truth comes out, the press run from it....

For example, now that the proof is out that the creep wilson WAS hired to go to nigeria because of a campaign to get him the slot via his wife, and now that we know, via British press corp, that there was an attempt by Iraq to obtain the WMD material there, does anyone on FR believe that our nation will come to learn of this? Heck no.

I am going to save the quotes you took the time to post and review them as much as possible. There is no better fodder to use against the enemy than the enemy's own words.

I don't understand how ANYONE could stand to be a democrat now. It has to be an embarrassing exercise in trashing your own principles to go for the win. Shameful.

Thanks for the ping. I don't want to see the film, just knowing about disgust me. That wasn't just dirty politics, it was definitely just plain out and out filthy.

Does it remind you of a funeral not to long ago? This is just another incidence of the type of Democratic leadership that is Bill Clinton's legacy!!!!

Maybe they think it'll help the gay vote.

They already have the gay vote, for what it's worth. They are trying to lose the straight vote. I think Hillary may have told those guys, 'Win and your dead, the WH is mine in 4 years '.
