The paper said Bremer "left without even giving a final speech to the country -- almost as if he were afraid to look in the eye the people he had ruled for more than a year."

But Bremer in fact delivered a speech broadcast on Iraqi TV, which was covered by the U.S. media.

This is ridiculous even for the left, to report something didn't happen when it was broadcast on TV. What idiots.

Yes, a lot of the loud liberal left are idiots. Their intellectual development was stunted by all the drugs they took back in the hippie days. They have delusions of grandeur left over from all the 'highs' they experienced on drugs. These old hippies think a concept is true only for the reason that they state it - truth is very illusive to most of these 50-something hippies. The only real change in these liberals over the years is the onset of wrinkles.

The LAT has run a (lame) correction. The Washington Post has not.

The spokesman said the address was not publicized to the Western news media."

DUH... The partisan press chooses not to show almost anything of benefit to the Bush Administration, but hits the airwaves every hour with anything that could possibly be interpreted as negative.

I am waiting for all the stories about Wilson's lies about his trip to Niger. We heard about the 16 words / yellow cake ad nauseum last year. Now that President Bush has been vindicated on the issue, the partisan press is very quiet.
