Education In 1988, voted to kill a Helms amendment to ban federal funds for AIDS information and education program that would "promote or encourage homosexual activity"[14]

In 1994, supported an amendment to the Improving America's Schools Act[15] prohibiting federal funds for instructional materials or counseling on school grounds "for the promotion of homosexuality as a positive lifestyle alternative."

Missed the vote for a Feinstein amendment[16] to his U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS Act to remove the requirement that tied one-third of its funds to abstinence programs, though he spoke on the Senate floor in favor of it.

Says he opposes federal guidelines that create financial incentives for "abstinence-only" sexuality education, and disincentives for medically accurate, comprehensive "abstinence-plus" sexuality education[17]

Does Kerry stand for anything? All I read are flipflops all over the place.

I doubt Kerry is worried about them. AIDS activists would rather die of that disease than vote for President Bush, no matter how much he might do for AIDS sufferers.

Looks like he voted for promoting homosexuality in the schools before he voted against it.

No one should kid themselves, it's being promoted in the schools regardless.

Hey, libs: don't ya just LOVE nuance?

If they really loved nuance or what lefties call nuance, they wouldn't be running Kerry.

Mario Cuomo for nuance (and gravitas). John Kerry for un-Bush fall guy. Hillary in '08.

You average 'rat will vote for Kerry, but McAwful and the Clintons will vote for Bush and not admit it. No they don't secretly like him, but they have bigger fish to fry than this particular election.

This article is spin cover BS.

Kerry has a 100% positive homosexual vote per HRC.

Kerry advocates social security spousal benefits for homosexuals. Immigration petition for homosexuals (ala a US citizens rights to bring a fiance into the USA).

He also advocats permitting homosexuals to file taxes jointly and would FEDERALLY recognize homosexual civil unions. Right now the fed does NOT recognize civil unions of homosexuals (or heterosexuals).

WE ALL KNOW THAT HILLARY DOESN'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL 2012 TO RUN; SHE'LL BE TOO OLD. I REALLY FEEL THAT THE CLINTONS WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN, BEHIND THE SCENES OF COURSE, TO SEE TO IT THAT FLIP-FLOP AND MOP-TOP LOSE THIS ELECTION. WHAT SAY YE?

Not to worry, he'll straddle both sides of the issue before he is through.

The nice thing for Kerry is that he won't really have to risk any political backlash for such things because the judiciary is going to to the dirty work for him. Then he'll sit back and say that the courts have spoken and now its a matter of settled law.

Unless of course the Marriage Amendment actually succeeds, or Congress stops the federal courts from getting involved (Article 3, Section 2; don't know if it would work but its worth a try), or Bush wins and is able to increase the number of conservatives on the Supreme Court. If he gets the chance, lets hope he doesn't commit such a monumental blunder like his father did with Justice Souter.

Contrary to what the media says, this Supreme Court is not conservative on social issues as evidenced by its affirmation of racial preferences and striking down state sodomy laws over the last two years. I think this court would vote to impose gay marriage.
