An article last Sunday about surprises in politics referred incorrectly to the turkey carried by President Bush during his unannounced visit to American troops in Baghdad over Thanksgiving. It was real, not fake.

Real, not fake, - this is not a correction. This is truth vs. lie. Put out out a lie, the entire media will carry it as gospel truth. A week later run a correction & no-one will notice. These people were all over NYPost over faulty VP story, for which they apologised (unlike NY Slimes) the very next day.

This morning on the CBS Radio news, they introduced a mention of the anniversary of the Hamilton Burr duel with something like:
"It was one week ago, that Vice President Cheney hurled a vulgarity..."
No bias here.....

What a pathetic state our media has become. 4000+ Americans killed at home and in two wars,Iraqi sovereignty returned and they have the audacity to waste ink on a stupid and utterly trivial ancedote about a turkey.

What was the point of that? Does CBS think it would have been better if Cheney had SHOT Leahy?

What I find amusing was that the liberal media was caught so off guard by the Bush landing Air Force One in Baghdad, that they started lied to themselves and others.
Interestingly, on a local NPR Radio show just his past Friday I was listeing to the liberal host and their liberal guest mentioning Bush landing Air Force One in Baghdad, and they both said, as if on cue "...pfffft yea, right, to serve them fake turkey".
When you can demonstrate that their liberal leaders are lieing to them about something so simple, it has a ripple effect.
Why would liberal leaders lie to their sheep about something so simple ? Why would liberal leaders missinform their followers over something so easy to verify ?
They answer is simple. They're not interested in the truth.

Oh, it's only an effort to get Bush. Remember the euphoria when Bush went to have Thanksgiving with the Troops in Baghdad? The press were temporarily powerless to to stop the good feelings and admiration people had for him. So they had to find a way... Oh, the turkey was plastic. The troops couldn't eat it. Bush flew into Baghdad and a) was so evil he tried to feed the troops a plastic turkey and/or b) Bush is so stupid he didn't know that the turkey was plastic.

That fake turkey theory was flooded by Milbank of Wash.Compost. Others picked later.

They were just pissed because Bush upstaged Hillarys! visit to Afghanistan. It's the same liberal think as declaring "Mission Accomplished" meant that the war was over. They just drop parts they don't like out of history and come up with their own version of it. That's what makes it so much fun to make fun of them! ;-)

A lie isn't a lie unless you get caught. If you get caught, deny, deny, deny. If that doesn't work, print a retraction, but bury it deep inside. If it is ever brought up by the other side, you can say you already vetted that, so "let's move on".

Didn't Hillary call someone a "f***** Jew"? Yes. And her husband was screaming that "the Jews would reap the whirlwind".
Bubba seems to have been fond of Hitler - I think he also gave copies of "Mein Kampf" to his staffers at one occasion.

A real Turkey in the grassy knoll.
I know a lot of Freepers don't think this is big news, but *IT IS*.
Case in point:
From: http://www.onlinejournal.com/Commentary/061804Willhelm/061804willhelm.html
..... Bush is not one to make any real personal sacrifices for the troops; he would not have given up his Thanksgiving dinner with his family just for the photo-ops to serve up a plastic turkey . . . .
The real root of the problem is that the hatriot wing of the communist cabal inside todays democrat party is to eager to believe any hate filled lie.

I bet Dana Milbank could not believe that W could lift a large REAL dressed turkey as effortlessly as if it was plastic. Ergo, the turkey must BE plastic; it cannot be that W is strong.
