President Bush will still be sworn in in January.
Yesss! After the way his Transition Team was treated by the juvenile Klintonista Kids, it could almost be treated as business-as-usual...
Off subject a bit, but what Mrs. Bat and I have been discussing is - after Bush wins and is in for his second term, will the left's venom abate or will it increase?....should be interesting.

If it's a landslide it won't matter. If AQ attacks, it'll be a landslide for 43. AQ's best hope is to wait it out and pray to Allah that Jean doesn't continue to self-destruct.

If this happens I will treat it the way I would treat Clinton doing the same thing. I will move inexorably against this Administration, post haste! I'm sure that has them worried. However given that every attack, including what seems to be a thwarted one on LAX, has been against a democratic voting bastion, lets vote no matter how many dims they kill. I mean voting on that day (one most people can't even ID on a calender) is far more important than waiting a week.

I think that even if they detonate an a-bomb, the election should go thru. Though in that case, I'd suggest retaliation first.

Two weeks? You know that for a fact, or are you guessing? Was an election held during the Civil War? Not being a smartass, really want to know. For some reason I think yes.
If conditions are such that an election can't be held, that's different.
In any event, you do things your way, I'll do things mine. My vote doesn't mean a doggone thing, and I'm not laboring under the misapprehension that it does.
How blithely you take this scenario, is scarier than you know what!

We vote for electors to the Electoral College, they can vote for whomever they want to that is still alive.
Attacks would make no difference. Delaying the election won't bring back dead candidates.

People have fought and died for your right to cast the vote you say doesn't mean a doggone thing.

You people need to readjust your tinfoil.
What do you mean by "you people"? I am not plural.
To: Zeroisanumber
You should first consult the Constitution before making such statements.
The State legislatures have power to determine the times and places of elections for senators and representatives. Each State also determines the details concerning the election of presidential electors. The U. S. Congress has the power to determine the date and time of presidential elections, as long as the election takes place the same day in each State.
I'm glossing over some details, but that's it in a nutshell.
To: HoustonCurmudgeon
You're right. And I don't about you, but how easily people accept this scenario is really scary to me.
This Administration governs by consent, my consent too, as I voted for President Bush in '00 and plan to vote again for him, but this is a deal breaker, plain and simple.

What I meant by that was that my vote alone will decide nothing.

Two weeks? You know that for a fact, or are you guessing? Was an election held during the Civil War? Not being a smartass, really want to know. For some reason I think yes. Interesting question. The yankees insisted the south was still part of the union, but I don't think they opened any polling places in Texas, so we didn't get to vote.

Ok, so I'm wrong about the Civil War and the vote. Was asking after all, and didn't assert that it was so.

Sorry. I should have said that's not why I vote. I'm speaking for myself. I don't claim to know enough to speak for anyone else :)

BTW, the vermin do not want to change our "election plans" -- the vermin want to change our election results.
Election plans, election results, all part of the big package. As for whom I will be pissed at I think that's obvious. And by the way, I take my vote very seriously and I do have a right to be concerned and to voice that concern.
To: AlbionGirl
What I was pointing out was that most people don't even know what day we should vote on and would say the first Tuesday in November if they even had an answer. Given that is not correct, I don't see what difference it would make to wait a week or so.

Abate? Do we not KNOW the democrats by now?
Every obstruction, every obfuscation, every obstacle
will be thrown willy nilly into his path, the future of
our country be damned. If Hillery! is planning on running
as we believe, then all the stops will be pulled out to try
and ruin the second term, our economy, and our war aims.
Don't believe it? Just wait.
