No, it was just a sarcastic remark directed toward Microsoft. I keep my computers behind firewalls with up-to-date antivirus software, run Mozilla, actually look at what I'm downloading or clicking on, and turn off all non-essential services. I haven't been infected by a virus on any computer I exclusively use in about 8 years. That's not bragging, it's just evidence of the fact that good habits can help make up for bad programming and/or design.

With the exception of running Mozilla, I do those same things -- and I've never been bitten by viruses/spyware/etc. Once you eliminate remote attacks with a firewall and/or disable all non-essential services -- and you avoid running unverified software, your attack surface area is practically nil.
