Whoopi Goldberg knocks on Bush
Hollywood-Star Whoopi Goldberg made sexual insinuations about the name of the US-President. Conservative America reacted promptly. Now the actress has lost her contract with the company Slim Fast.
But not everyone was enthusiastic over the appearances of the Kerry-supporters in New York. Only a week after actress Whoopi Goldberg appeared in an election campaign event for Kerry, the Hollywood biggie is no longer permitted to advertise for the diet product manufacturer Slim Fast because of her mocking remarks about U.S. President George W. Bush.
Conservative republicans were indignant that Goldberg had made sexual insinuations about the last name of the president. In gutter English, "Bush" is also synonymous with primary female genitalia.
Some customers felt insulted because of it, so the advertisement with the star has been immediately withdrawn, a company spokesman said.
In the event, which took in about 7.5 million dollars in election campaign donations, also appeared John Mellencamp, Jon Bon Jovi, Paul Newman, Meryl Streep, Jessica long and John Leguizamo
Shortly after her appearance conservative organizations on the internet threatened a boycott against the diet product manufacturer. Moreover, Kerry has been criticized in some of the media for not distancing himself from Goldberg's jokes.

In this article, FR is not mentioned, but I'll bet that "conservative organizatons on the internet" is FR.

I don't think they like us longjack...
LOL!
Reminds me of a joke when I was a kid:
" I don't belong to an organized church - I'm a Baptist".
ve stand in der vey of de final solution.
That's hard to say, Dog. Germans tend to like witty or enterprising events, such as a freep.
I think "Spiegel" may actually enjoy FR, because "Spiegel" is witty and pun-oriented with their article titles, as FR can be.
This article doesn't put Kerry in a good light either.

My question is from the translation and explanation of "gutter English."
Is there secondary female genitalia?
Ah-hah! We guerillas have used our tons cklick co-ordinating to succeed in tilting the turning again! :^)
You mean, you haven't found it yet? You're missing out.
Remember Jesse Jackson's slogan for the 2000 election: "Stay out the Bushes!"
Now we know what he was getting at. Maybe Jesse should've heeded his own advice.
"Vee haff many vaysssss to make you NOT talk....."
Moi! I surrender.
Oh yes. Tertiary as well. Further deponent sayeth not.
Considering all the things they could have called us, I'd say we got a very fair shake and the article was very fair too.
I think the smarter euros are starting to figure out that President Bush may very well have a second term. It was risky enough to insult America through President Bush when they thought only half the country supported him, but by now they're figuring out that it was the half with jobs and money to spend on German products.
Is there secondary female genitalia?
That was difficult for me to figure out how to translate.
I ended up using the literal translation, primary. I guess it could have been main or first or initial, etc., female genitalia.
I think they were trying to say the outer or first stage, but since I wasn't sure, I went with the literal (and machine) translation.
But , what the heck, it should make for some quite interesting comments.

I didn't know we threatened a boycott, I thought we were actually boycotting? I don't think slim fast should get off that easy. I think the boycott should continue until Whoopi and the company gives a real apology. It may never happen but then the boycott never ends.
