I can't really follow it myself.
basically, at some subatomic level, two bits of matter are "tuned" to one another.
After that time, no matter what is done to one of these bits also happens to the other (in terms of "spin" on quarks, IIRC) irrespective of distance separating the two bits.
To this lay person, it looks like proof of additional dimensions(hyperspace, sub-space) and what ever ties them together functions through those dimensions.
