I assume given the recent tradition of naming the recent Nimitz class carriers after presidents that Slick Willy will come up. I wonder how the officers and enlisted men will think about serving on a ship with Clinton's name on it.
I think the only way Slick Willy gets an aircraft carrier named after him is if the Dems retake congress. While that's bound to happen someday, I hope it's so far in the future that Slick Willy is little more than a dim memory and the last person anyone would think of when naming a ship.

They should build a miniature bent-shaped sub and named it after Slick.
It would small, bent, and full of seamen.
My understanding is that the USS George H.W. Bush will be the last Nimitz class carrier. Whew! :-)
Hell will freeze over before there's a USS Clinton, unless it's the garbage scow somewhere in the Aleutians.
Not all presidents have had ships/subs/carriers named after them, have they? I'm surprised though, that they didn't have one of the above named after John Adams! In the book written about him by David McCullough, a few years ago; there was part where he advocated a strong Navy.
He referred to ships as "wooden walls", and wanted to see many built. He also did a lot of travel as an ambassador on them.(Of course, that was the only way of crossing the ocean in those days, I know!) If they did have something named after him, I'd never heard of it!
