John, I'm almost positive I read this here yesterday.
"It-takes-two-to-tango" bump
So...are you shaking yet? Or was that what you meant?
You did.
From the "If it feels good, do it." culture.
So can we have a Consitution Admendment that says its ok to have an Affair?
I wonder how many democrats and republicans that would vote that in!
I think its time to come out of the closet and show our true values!
Rise up the masses and proclaim the injustice!!!
note to men: just say NO
And what hurts betrayed women more is discovering their husband's lover didn't look as good as they do. What is it with men and dowdy mistresses is something most of us will never understand although its probably an unconscious punishment for cheating. For men adultery occurs in the absence of physical satisfaction from their partners; for women it stems from being lonely and emotionally unfufilled. Rabbi Boteach is correct that adultery is the most devastating experience people encounter in life next to divorce and death. It is not a consummation devoutly to be wished.
And, the men? NOT held accountable?
Here's a thought.....obey the vows you took before God. How 'bout that?
Adultery is a form of theft. Not of material possessions but of another person's loyalties and affections away from the partner who has the rightful claim on them. There should never be sympathy with the adulterers. There always be sympathy with the wronged party - i.e, the spouse who wad betrayed. Its too bad Monica and Bill did not pay the full price for their dalliance. In fact, they barely suffered any real consequences stemming from their illicit relationship.
I remember a Laurel and Hardy short, where Ollie's wife threatens to sue Stan for "Alienation of Affection."
They should both be held accountable. Rabbi Boteach's point is a single woman who takes a husband as a lover isn't exactly an innocent party. Its not fashionable to point this out in an age where non-judgmentalism on matters sexual is the order of the day.
I understood his point, Gold. I was just commenting on the headline/title.
Good grief. Yet another World Net Daily biased rant. There's so many threads from that site it makes one wonder if this is no longer a Freeper site but a Netty site.
I try to avoid WND threads but this one is too much. WND has once again gone off the deep end. No, Monica doesn't owe Shrillary anything. She had no alliance with her. Bubba is the only one who owes her (as a spouse) and the nation (as it's president) an apology.
I would say that 'adultery is a form of rape'.
Husbands cheat, pianos can't.
