Homosexuals Break the Moral Barrier
Jews For Life ^ | 7/15/04 | Bonnie Chernin Rogoff

Posted on 07/16/2004 1:10:07 PM PDT by BonnieBeth

The procedural vote fell short, and Senate Republicans failed to end debate on the Federal Marriage Amendment. It was a replay of the cloture vote that failed to end incessant Democrat filibusters of President Bush’s pro-life and conservative judicial nominees.

“The issue is not going away,” promised Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. “Will it be back? Absolutely, yes.”

Yeah. That’s what he said when the judicial appointments failed. Let’s hope the issue of homosexual marriage dies while we’re ahead, or Republicans may stage another fake filibuster followed by their own embarrassing 30-hour marathon. Remember that fiasco? If President Bush loses in November, it will be a reflection on him and the GOP leadership that Congressional members have built illustrious careers insulting their conservative base.

The lack of consensus among Republicans is a moral victory for the homosexual lobby. How difficult is it to come out and say, “Enough is enough. We must unite and defend the institution of marriage.”

By the way, last week someone called me a tacit bigot. Not overt, mind you…tacit. For the record, I oppose homosexual marriage. Also for the record, I’m not a bigot, tacit or otherwise. When did opposing homosexual marriage translate to opposing homosexuals as human beings? Apparently, if you don’t sanction all their demands, you are a de-facto racist.

Suppose you are an Orthodox Jewish mother, and your daughter wants to marry a religious Christian. If you oppose that marital union, does that mean you hate Christians or don’t care about your daughter’s happiness? Theoretically, it could. More likely, it means the Jewish Mom is tied to a religious ideology and feels she must uphold Torah law that requires a shidduch, or appropriate match. In Judaism, intermarriage is forbidden.

Provided they reach the age of majority, children of different faiths may tie the knot without parental consent. Suppose the Jewish mother objects to the union because she secretly doesn’t like Christians, which of course, makes her a tacit bigot. Will the prospect of a civil intermarriage via an elopement change her views? No. Legalizing something does not change a person’s character. Those who hate homosexuals will continue to do so, tacitly or overtly, whether marriage is “gay” or not. All legalization does is break down barriers, gradually weakening a society’s perception of right and wrong. It also changes how we define behavior. Remember when “gay” meant happy and “straight” meant not crooked?

By changing group think, you can move mountains. Most Americans opposed abortion in 1973 but without a unified lobby, pro-life individuals haven’t changed many laws. Some Americans supported the teaching of evolution long before the Scopes’ Trial, but the ACLU was not a potent entity in the 1920’s, and the status quo resumed.

Secular lobby groups became powerful and pervasive in the 1960’s and took root in the anti-war campus riots, women’s liberation, population control activists, the greens, and eventually, the homosexual movement. The agendas were varied but the groups were united in one belief: the destruction of G-d. The first moral barrier to be shattered came with the 1963 U.S. Supreme Court decision banning public school prayer. Ten years later came Roe. While religious individuals looked on in helpless torpor, laws rewrote decades of history. Those same laws are killing the elderly and infirm with indignity, often without their consent.

Traditional marriage is the next victim, and homosexual marriage as an equal right is a sham. We all enjoy the same civil rights. As for hate, it is a tragic part of human nature. Rather than accept that fact and work to correct injustices, homosexuals will undo American institutions. It’s pathetic.

I, for one, am a traditionalist and do not applaud the change that has happened in America over the past 50 years. I miss the days when we all had the potential to be gay, or sad. If that makes me a hater, okay. I challenge anyone to prove conclusively that clinging to cherished ideals makes a person intolerant. Often, it is change that brings out prejudice. Change brought reverse discrimination. Change has not tolerated school prayer, Christmas displays, school choice, reverence for life, or the sanctioned union between man and wife. All those who resent Ozzie and Harriet’s America are not bigots, but progressives. That’s what the homosexual lobby is hoping you’ll never forget.

The young radicals (communists/socialists) of the 60’s have become college professors, teachers, lawyers, politicians, clergy, news and entertainment media and the business world elite. They are “educating” and recruiting our young for their replacements. They are taking OUR country away from us and saving it for the “Future owners”. The list at this link shows what they have accomplished. (http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm)

Part of the proble is that all legal thought is essentially controlled by these hippies.

Law schools are far more PC than even the University System.

Law professors, who are teaching the future judges and lawyers, are far more leftists than society should be comfortable.

In fact if there is anywhere where a "diversity of thought" quota system should be FORCED it is in the law school systems.

Reflecting..

If the numerics continue...eventually cities will become *Super Gay cities...the in vogue place to be.
Normal folk will stream out by the thousands.
More and more these places will become like Sodom...those who are not gay and remain will be violated eventually.
Hard to know what the disease dynamic will be...
severe for those who do not have money.

Disease in dynamic could see these places quarintined...normal folk trapped as the disease rages.

Who will pay for the rising death toll nationally?

Homosexuals Break the Moral Barrier

First thought: "This just in! ..." (This was big news back in the time of ... Genesis.)

After further review, I must say if we had to rely on Republicans to kill sodomite marriage, we'd be hurtin' BAD.

Often, it is change that brings out prejudice. Change brought reverse discrimination.

Well that certainly justifies all the previous discrimination that previously took place against blacks, doesn't it?

TexasCajun - man, you gotta cool it. That's absolutely disgusting - please don't go so low. That's not needed to get the idea across. Thank you.

You're right. Maybe the moderator should delete my post.
Sorry if I made you want to throw up.

It just really bugs me the way the liberals make homosexual men to be precious little girly-boyz who like to sew, shop, clean house and make-over fashion challenged normal men.

Leave it up there. People have to be reminded what it is the homosexual lobby really expects us to tolerate, accept, and take pride in.

Remember when “gay” meant happy and “straight” meant not crooked?

I still use them that way, For the corresponding 'sexual orientations', I use "pervert" and "normal".

Even if your cat has kittens in the oven, calling them, "biscuits" doesn't make them tasty with butter and jam...

I never said I justified discrimination against African Americans, and I don't. Nor do I see how being AGAINST reverse discrimination automatically means you justify discrimination against blacks. Make sense, please.

Your statement strongly implied that the "change" was a bad thing since it brought about reverse discrimination.

The change was a bad thing. As you just admitted, it brought about reverse discrimination. No one should be victims of discrimination, including white Americans.

Over and out.

I didn't say that I believed that the change brought about reverse discrimination; I was merely summarizing your argument.

My personal position is that the change which ended discrimination against blacks was a good thing, and also a completely separate thing from the change that brought about reverse discrimiation. It's confused thinking on your part to suggest that those are the same things; as if blacks could not be free from hate without causing hatre for whites etc. That's just plain foolish...
