Why Does the World Hate Israel?
Town Hall ^ | July 18, 2004 | Herbert London

Posted on 07/17/2004 9:30:38 PM PDT by quidnunc

Israel is a tiny nation, roughly half the size of Lake Michigan.  Its population is roughly half the size of the New York metropolitan area.  Despite being a Jewish state, more than twenty percent of its residents are Arab and most Jews in Israel describe themselves as secular rather than religious.

Yet if one were to read world press accounts or daily condemnations from the United Nations or the recent decision of the ICJ criticizing the construction of the fence, you might conclude that Israel is a world power intent on destabilizing Middle East affairs.

Why, it might well be postulated, does the world resent this speck of land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean?

Although my comments are speculative, I suspect they could be borne out empirically if historical accounts were fair and objective.

Israel is a thorn in the side of the Arab world because it is a remarkable technological phantasmagoria.  Almost every Israeli is engaged in a software scheme.  The Jews in this arid nation have made the deserts bloom; they have converted brain power into technical marvels and consequent wealth.

By contrast every nearby Arab nation is dysfunctional.  Their governments are tyrannical; the people are poor and uneducated and local officials have been unwilling to convert oil revenue into social benefits.

Why Does the World Hate Israel?

Because of the Bechirah.

What solutions are possible?

Either (1)HaShem will have to withdraw the Bechirah (which won't happen), or (2)Israel must impose the Kingdom of HaShem on all the world, thus ending the resentment of the Nations of the World for the unpleasant fact that Israel's G-d is True and theirs are false (which, if current habits of thought are maintained, won't happen any time soon).

Hatred of Israel is anti-Jewish hatred, pure and simple. If you doubt this, ask yourself: with everything else being equal, down to the last detail of policy, ideology, economy, everything, except that the nation was a slightly ethnically different breed of moslem population--just a dffierent tribe of Arabs, say, how much hatred would there be for it?

How much would Europe or the World "Court of Justice" condemn a small Arab state for fighting a defenseive battle against external terrorists?

Who would see the "Palestinians" as victims if they were attacking another group of Arabs instead of a nation of Jews?

I believe the answer is in the spiritual realm.

If you examine it from a Biblical world view: Israel was intended to be God's chosen people through which the Messiah was to come... [Deletia]

...when the Jewish Leaders demanded Jesus's death and swore 'His blood be on us and our children' it was the dumbest thing in history...

Well, yes, it was dumb thing to say, but it is not the cause of the world's hatred of Israel.

Israel was called as God's chosen people. Through all the sins, apostasy, rebellion, blunders and sheer stupidity committed by Israel, they remain God's chosen. The natural man hates God and all things Godly. The intensity of the world's hatred of Israel is a barometer by which we can sense how much of the world is "natural" and how much of the world is moved by the promptings of the spirit.

"His blood be on us and our children"

They swore that and God gave them what they asked for. Jerusalem, the Temple, and most all of the Jewish inhabitants of Jerusalem were destroyed by the Roman army in A.D. 70.

That doesn't mean the oath applies to all of their descendents 2,000 years later as well.

"It really doesn't matter, does it? ...

Not in the long run if they want to make it come to "push comes to shove."

"Israel is a small state with a small population. It's a democracy and it exists in a neighborhood where many–over a period of time–have opined from time to time that they'd prefer it not be there and they'd like it to be put in the sea. And Israel has opined that it would prefer not to get put in the sea, and as a result, over a period of decades, it has arranged itself so it hasn't been put in the sea."—Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

I don't want to refight this, but both the historical record and the Christian scriptures create a much more nuanced story.
1. THE leaders had little to do with Jesus death. The collaborationist leaders, installed by the Romans and their vassal Edomite uspurping Herodians, convinced the Romans to do away with Jesus for the preservation of order. Caiaphas was no more legitimate than Marshall Petain in France or Prime Minister Quisling in Norway.
2. The blood curse shows the ignorance or contempt of the LAW by the crowd as there is no inter-generational blood guilt allowed under God's Laws.

Why does the world hate Israel? There are actually two simple answers --
  1. If the country is anIslamic country then it hates Israel (and Spain and Portugal and Serbia and Greece and India) because according to the Korn any land that was once owned by mooslimes is to be forever mooslime.
  2. If it's a nonislamci state then they hate Israel because they need Saudislamic oil
Give them a way to throw off the threat of slamic oil cuts and they'll all support Israel.

FFrance has a large Muslim population and many of the Balkan states are largely Muslim....this has had a bad influence on Europe's opinion of Israel

Well, France has only~2% mooslimes, in the Balkans you only have Albania and Bosnia that have large slammie populations and these aren't firm slammies -- still influenced by communism, and we have a good chance to bring them back to Christianity (they were Christian as recently as the 1700s), we had a better chance in the 1990s but Clintoon let that slip and the Serbs with their anti-ethnic genocides preferred to ignore the possibility of converting them (it's easier to attack mooslimes as if you convert them then you're attacking members of your own faith).

Albania still has its own Orthodox church and a large number are Catholic -- and both congregations are expanding (IN Albania I might add, there doesn't seem to be any headway in Kosovo, maybe it's because of hardening of attitudes on both sides there?) and hopefully we may have a Christian Albania once more.

however this is dependent on killing the heart of the terrorist hydra -- Saudi A and Pakiistan.

Amen. In addition to a lot of the other answers on this forum, people are forgetting that this is truly a spiritual battle.

I just hate it when, after the opening sentence in an argument, I have to run for a dictionary.

"One thought in the back of my mind is that Europe has hated Jews for so long, that it's now a part of their cultures" But it doesn't explain Islamic anti-semitism (which has a long history of its own) or anti-semitic fever among Japanese.

The Jews were chosen by God to be the vehicle, the messengers, of His self-revelation. People hate God ("loving darkness rather than light"), therefore they kill the messenger(s).

"Well, France has only~2% muslim......

It's 10% in France and growing very rapidly (through both high birth rate and high immigration). Meantime the native French population is not even able to replace itself, having a significant and well-established depopulation trend.

In 20 years, critical mass will be reached and the muslims will be the central political force in the country.

But it doesn't explain Islamic anti-semitism (which has a long history of its own)

I believe that Islamic hatred of Jews (hard to call it "anti-semitism, since arabs are semites) is based primarily on scriptures, as the "children of Ishmael" they feel cheated out of their birthrite. The bible says that Hagar and Ishmael were turned out into the desert by Abraham, and muslims claim that they are the legitimate heir to Abraham. In modern times, nothing is more insulting to muslims, and arabs in particular, is the success of Israel in nearly every endeavor. Don't forget that Zionist spent many years buying up desert and bug infested marshes, and turning it into productive farmland, and giving Israel one of the most productive high-tech industries in the world.

or anti-semitic fever among Japanese.

The Japanese have a very long history of xenophobia and distrust of anything not Japanese.

Yep. We might as well start calling it "North Algeria" now.
