Now there's an idea! He wanted to make sure he was at home to tape them? I agree that's possible, but RR, still, you can set your VCR to start taping at a certain time... and Scott in particular knew there wouldn't be any annoying wife or child there to fool with the VCR/TV, and mess up his settings! (Even I know how to set it to tape while I'm away.)
Maybe he never bothered to look up and see how to set a time for the VCR to start recording, and so he'd have to be at home in order to tape them. It's definitely a possibility! And I think we can put down as a "definite", whether or not he wanted to make sure and have copies of his interviews: definitely yes.
Hey, but there's one more thing I just thought of: Scott made Rowlands agree to that thing about not before 6 p.m. Then Rowlands' station used just a small clip of Scott, with a voiceover, as a preview, and aired it at noon one day. Scott called Rowlands indignantly, and accused him of going back on the agreement.
That noon showing was an extra--not a rescheduling of the interview's airing. Even if he did want to be home to tape the whole interview, why would he have been upset about the noon preview??
PS: If you go to that ABC site where Ted Rowlands' interviews of Scott are available, you can hear Rowlands talking about Scott and the conditions he put on the interview, and that's where Ted R. says Scott called him up mad b/c a clip was shown earlier than 6 p.m.
IamHD posted a link to that site a while back. If you want to go there and hear the Rowlands interview, I'll be glad to dig up that post.
