YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan -- It's an exercise not quite like any Rear Adm. James Kelly has led his battle group into before.
In the coming weeks, the USS Kitty Hawk and six other Navy aircraft carriers will be deployed around the globe to demonstrate America's ability to deal with a decidedly post-September 11 scenario: the outbreak of violence just about everywhere at once.

In Victoria BC we have seen one US Navy ship after another passing through, the last being the Abraham Lincoln this weekend. The US appears to be going into a full response-ready posture in advance of its election season. I pity whomever or whatever comes after the Americans before November.

A show of force is one thing, but having the resolve to decisively use necessary force is quite another thing.....

I there really any reason to keep our troops in Germany anymore? I think they can be better deployed elsewhere. And besides, why do we need to keep supporting the economies of european countries who dispise us?

Now THAT's a pretty big umbrella over the Fleet. No way the fighters can cover that must territory. Must include strategic (nuke) bombers? Ya think?

Uh...certain types of aircraft of a military nature have been rumored..rumored mind you...to be "equipped" with "special weapons". Heh heh.

How long do you suppose the current crop of "leaders" will remain fascinated by their ability to hold the world in "perpetual war"?

Exactly!
Americans think they can scare the Chinese?
Not anymore, this backlash of Ant-Americanisim by American media has destroyed your invincibility. America WILL NEVER WIN another war - unless it is one of complete annihilation (In that case no-one wins). Look, America might elect a new (Liberal/Antiwar/appeasement) government in the likes of J.F'n.Kerry, just this alone has shown weakness to the World. I thought that 911 changed Americans - it has - but to the other side!!!
I am so disappointed! I am so sorry this has happened to America!

Wow. You really ought to lighten up on the gloom-and-doom pills. We are winning in Iraq. America loves a winner. President Bush will be re-elected by a large margin in the Fall. John F'n Kerry will be a footnote to history by the first of the year.
Keep the faith, Bro!

funny.
I wish I could be as confident as you, but, whether I am watching TV, or in my car all I hear is the hatred people have towards your President. How much people have LOVE towards jfk, and this is from Americans!!!
The message sent by Americans to the world is: "We cannot stomach a war with to many casualties, bring our boys home, who care if we neutralized another sHitler..."
Thank the many Americans who sacrificed now and all other wars the ultimate price, if Americans during WWI and WWII had the attitude of some of todays Americans, I would rather not know what state the world would be in now.
