AP: Clinton Adviser Probed in Terror Memos

WASHINGTON - President Clinton (news - web sites)'s national security adviser, Sandy Berger, is the focus of a criminal investigation after admitting he removed highly classified terrorism documents from a secure reading room during preparations for the Sept. 11 commission hearings, The Associated Press has learned.

Berger's home and office were searched earlier this year by FBI (news - web sites) agents armed with warrants. Some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of al-Qaida terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing.

Berger and his lawyer said Monday night he knowingly removed handwritten notes he had taken from classified anti-terror documents he reviewed at the National Archives by sticking them in his jacket and pants. He also inadvertently took copies of actual classified documents in a leather portfolio, they said.

"I deeply regret the sloppiness involved, but I had no intention of withholding documents from the commission, and to the contrary, to my knowledge, every document requested by the commission from the Clinton administration was produced," Berger said in a statement to the AP.

Berger served as Clinton's national security adviser for all of the president's second term and most recently has been informally advising Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites). Clinton asked Berger last year to review and select the administration documents that would be turned over to the commission.

The FBI searched Berger's home and office with warrants earlier this year after employees of the National Archives told agents they believed they witnessed Berger put documents into his clothing while reviewing sensitive Clinton administration papers, officials said.

When asked, Berger said he returned some of the classified documents, which he found in his office, and all of the handwritten notes he had taken from the secure room, but said he could not locate two or three copies of the highly classified millennium terror report.

There's some reason he did this. This one is a real possiblity because he had to know this was a desperation move.

"I also surmise that special steps were taken (like changing which employees observed and handled the video tape) so that Berger couldn't get any inside help. Perhaps the "inside help" decided national security in a time of war was more important than covering up for the Clintonistas."

You're right, Berger thought that they had the Archives buttoned up. But if that's true, why did he stuff the docs into his clothing? Presumably, he could just stuff his briefcase and walk out.....

WHY? Why would he do it?

Because he thought he wouldn't get caught. Which means that whoever was supposed to be watching him was a Clinton friendly. Apparently, there was someone watching the watcher.

The Menu has been altered for the Dem Convention

They are dumping the "Roast Duck" and replacing it with "Feathered Crow"

The "Fresh Cantaloupes" has been replaced with "Sour Grapes"

For Desert, the menu has changed from "Cherries Jubilee" serve flaming to "Lemon Pie" served in the face.

The Souvenir Party Favors they would normally leave with, have been replaced with an "Egg Facial"

If he put them in the leather folder, he figured someone might ask to examine it. Perhaps there was such a procedure in place.

Putting them down his pants was foolproof.......especially for someone with a criminal mind. He'd be out of the building and no one would be the wiser.

I do believe they must have him doing the dastardly deed on tape, since he'd be unlikely to admit to the crime otherwise.

Is there any doubt that The Democratic Party is an anti-American, anti-Freedom Crime Syndicate?

They are truly the enemy within.

Clinton testifies before 9/11 panel

WASHINGTON: Former US President Bill Clinton testified in private session Thursday before the September 11 commission investigating the devastating 2001 attacks on the United States.

The former Democratic president testified privately to the panel in Washington after it earlier heard public testimony from Condoleezza Rice, President George W Bush’s national security adviser. “The commission found the former president forthcoming and responsive to its questions,” the panel said in a short statement, which gave no details of what Clinton said.

It added that Clinton had provided “excellent cooperation” to its inquiries, and that he gave testimony and answered members’ questions for three hours.

"The Left is going to do everything in its power to limit the impact of this."

Unless this was let out to cover for something worse.

If these accusations are true, Sandy Berger is going to jail

Better yet, if these accusations are true, Sandy Berger might be persuaded to spill his guts.
