BS! He was the freaking National Security Adviser, he knows what is a classified document and which are originals. This is exactly their MO. They claim to be so damn smart but when they are caught they claim they didn't know something. Either they are brilliant and know more than anyone or they shouldn't be allowed near CLASSIFED INFORMATION.

REGARDLESS if they are orginals or copies .. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE ROOM

All classified information is ALWAYS clearly stamped in red as "Copy" or "Original"......also clearly stamped in red is it's level of classification.

Additionally, every copy which is classified "Secret" or above is always numbered and tracked. It's the law and everyone who handles these documents knows what they are......copy or orginal. Sandy Berger knew precisely what he was stealing and what the law says about it.

The only motive I can discern is that he must have believed he had originals(drafts submitted for review)........very few in number......and he got them all. Perhaps to ensure his chances of a good job in a prospective Kerry adminstration???
