Aiding and abetting the enemy. This judge should be impeached due to lack of marbles upstairs. The judge is surely a demorat and probably a klinton cronie. The DNC has carefully planned for all these blocking actions to disrupt the RNC in New York. I feel sorry for all the good people in NY who have to suffer because of the demo-commies and their communist agenda. Bush/Cheny 2004.

How about the specific THREAT OF TERRORISM?
Not to mention the very specific threats of the Ruckus Society and other anarchists. Of course, the judge is probably on their side...

What is this judge thinking?!?!?!?!He is dreaming of the New York Times-Pravda headline for Nov. 3, 2004:
KERRY ELECTED IN LANDSLIDE-PRESIDENT CHENEY CONCEDES!

I wouldn't be so sure. The 2nd Circuit, which hears appeals from New York, is liberal. It includes former Yale law dean Guido Calabrese who recently created a kerfluffle by calling Bush illegitimately in office at some Rat lawyer dinner.

Sweet is a notorious lefty judge. I hope they can somehow get a new ruling from someplace above him, because this is insane.

Why don't they just send the invitations, directions, tips and friendly advice on how to pass as Americans?

Thank you for the search. This summarizes this clymer judge:
Nominated by Jimmy Carter on February 17, 1978, to a seat vacated by Inzer B. Wyatt; Confirmed by the Senate on April 25, 1978

deserve neither liberty or safety." Benjamin Franklin - 1759
See Amendment IV
The judge, for consistency sake, also should strike down New York's gun laws, (Amendmendt II) so citizens can open carry to deter crimminals and terrorists from preying on unarmed citizens.

I think your idea is the best. This judge is irrelevant. He just doesn't know it yet.
If this order does stand, MAKE this judge sit there while thousands file through with backpacks and who knows what. Tell him that one of the attendees could have a weapon, and if anyone is hurt, it's his responsibility, no one else's, and that he will be charged with treason if it happens.
*Grrrrr

Sorry, but this is a good ruling. Here in Boston, the MBTA cops have already announced that they'd random-search passengers' backpacks and briefcases on commuter rail trains, and as a commuter rail passenger, I'd be G-damned if I'd let one of these hacks search me. After all, it's about a little something called the Fourth Amendment . . .
To: Grampa Dave
As someone else has said, this makes it clear why winning the White House and the Congress is imperative.

"Gee, maybe we really shouldn't be screening airline baggage either without a specific threat... ARGH!!!" You are absolutely correct. See Amendment IV
Airport search and seizures by "federalized" employess blatantly violates Amendment IV.
Requiring by law, that airlines purchase x-ray equipment to search their customer's luggage violates Amendment V (nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation.)

This judge needs to be overruled ASAP!! The judge needs to be impeached and removed from office ASAP. The judge needs to be investigated for ties to terrorist organizations.

"I wonder if they check the bags of people entering the courthouse?" Excellent point. I have been stating for years that, particularily in Missouri where I live, a courthouse check of bags and people violates both the federal and state constitutions protecting the right of not being searched without probable cause and protecting the right to keep and bear arms.
But unfortunately, too many "conservatives" (which implies the conservation of something, such as the Bill of Rights) support such unconstitutional activity, as indicated by the responses on this posting.

Interesting though, that the language in the second amendment;
"the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. "
is far more strongly worded than that of the fourth;
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated."
In the second amendment, the right is more absolute. In the fourth, it is subject to the undefined term "unreasonable". Quite a hole, especially considering the times in which the amendment was written.
