Absolutely.

GW must win this election, and we must give him more senators.

4 to 8 years of al Queery would be the end of this country due to his terrible politics and the judges he would recommend.

Hey, the paradox is that if someone sees you with a weapon, they figure you both know how to and will use it if necesseary, and leave you alone. Amazing. No threats, no promises. Just plain facts.

What is this judge thinking?!?!?!?!

The following:

"We must protect the rights of radicals to disrupt the GOP convention. Bigger news story. May help kerry win."

. . . prohibits blanket searches of bulky bags and backpacks in the absence of a "specific threat."

Talk about an utterly useless ruling.

The NYPD will simply claim that they've received a specific threat about protesters at the GOP convention, and everyone will be subject to a thorough search.

Does anyone here think a dottering old fool of a Federal judge is going to complain about such a turn of events?

TIMES SQ. SUBWAY BLAST HURTS COP
The New York Post ^ | 07/20/2004 | The New York Post

A small pipe bomb packed with gunpowder and BBs exploded in a subway station last night, injuring a transit cop and throwing several blocks near Times Square into chaos.

A police spokesman insisted that authorities do not believe that the incident was terrorism — but federal officials, including the Secret Service and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating, it was learned.

The officer, whose name was withheld, was standing near a staircase leading to the A, C and E trains at 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue at around 8 p.m., when he saw a burning knapsack, police said.

He quickly pushed two commuters to safety, but as he was calling for assistance, the bag exploded, cops said.

This may have been a dry run by the Kerrorists, whose judge has enabled them to have an open pathway to cause severe problems before and during the convention.

Old Carter appointed judges never retire, they just stay on and make life miserable for other Americans.

And air marshals can't do anything until after something goes boom.

Three problems
1 Law suits..lots and lots of law suits
2 If anyone is arrested for something found because of the search they will be set free
3 We are (in theory) a nation of laws.

This judges order will be stayed very soon. (IMO)

The prohibition on penning is far more important than the bag search prohibition IMHO. The NYPD has been using penning very successfully from the WTO protests and the New Year's Eve celebrations for years. It is the only thing that works to prevent crowds from turning into mobs.

Maybe this judge thinks that uncontrollable mobs are an essential feature of free expression. If the police can't use penning, they are going to have to use horses, mace, batons and tear gas, and things are going to get ugly.

Maybe that is what the judge is going for...

In the second amendment, the right is more absolute.

Kind of like the First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Here is one of the primary differences between libertarianism and conservatism. The libertarians will damn the torpedos and run smack into them rather than turn the wheel slightly to avoid. A conservative will turn the wheel, knowing he will have to fight to return it to its original position, but is willing to risk a little than risk it all.

If the police have to search my backpack in order to keep the ragheads from blowing up my fellow citizens, then have at it. If I want to go to the convention, I have to be willing to give a little.

Will the same ruling be applied at the rat convention?

Aren't demonstrators in Boston going to be limited to a fenced off "Free Speech Area" located on a piece of construction debris covered wasteland far away from the convention hall? And the 'Rats are allowed to take over Midtown Manhattan...
