Perhaps if anyone is afraid, it's LINDA. She recently told a San Diego newspaper that when performing, if she finds out that someone in the audience is a Republican or Christian, it spoils her enjoyment of the evening.

Hmm, any linquists care to comment? What would the "fear of Christians" be? Or the fear of Republicans"? Christianphobia? Republicanphobia? Does our mere existence frighten her or offend her?

Fully half the country fits in at least one of those categories. She is woefully ignorant. Perhaps she's been sheltered (an accusation frequently leveled at Christian parents who choose to keep their children out of public schools.) I suggest a long stay in middle America to educate her in the ways of real people.

Yes I am Dutch and a paying member of our Green Left Party, which is in fact of the highest democratic standards, intelligent, pro-environment, and for a free exchange of opinions. To add: they stand for a good system of social benefits, care for the elderly, and a decent and accessible health insurance for everyone, which we (still) have.

Question. Who pays for all this? How long do the Dutch care for their elderly? I understand euthanasia is an "option" in that care. Somehow, that just sounds like, "stick around while you're useful and we'll take care of you, but when you're no longer useful, stick your arm out, this will only hurt a little. Buh bye!"

Excuse me if I don't hang around for your answer. I have a vested interested in hearing your answer about euthanasia and will come back to read it, but right now, I have a new grandchild to go and visit.
