From the noises that Bush and the Israeli government have been making recently, I read that, if re-elected, Bush will use his second term to go after Iran - militarily if necessary. Given the threats that the mullahs have been making since they got their bombs and missiles up and operational, it's better it be done sooner rather than later.

Also, may I say something as an Iranian Catholic.. Can I say that the Mullahs are necessarily Islamic. If you simply look at their history and actions you see that they actually act not in accord with Islam but rather their own twisted Ideology - and they USE islam for their own evil plans. When the mullahs torture, kill, hook young Iranians on heroin, allow youn girls to be sold to arab countries, and essentially destroy the country, it is not because they are following Islams teachings and laws - but because they are following their own madness.

This is the first time i"ve ever come to the defense of a religion since I am more spiritual than religious - and believe the most if not all organized religions have gotten way out of control and what is the use in so many, since there is only ONE TRUTH - however, I know many - and I mean MANY - Muslims who would sacrafice their lives and everythign they own to take down these mullahs. These corrupt fanatics are hated with a passion - and are not representative of the Iranian people - nor are they representative of a religion.

Thank you for your very well said post. I know that what you say is true....sometimes we (here in the states) get so frustrated that we want to kick something, and unfortunately that something is Islam. I will try to keep your post in the back of my mind....

I'm sorry for the people of Iran that threw away their freedom to be the cattle of evil men. This is the problem with Islam, the ignorant can be whipped into a frenzy.

The same has been attempted with Christianity here in the states but it has been an abysmal failure limited to a few fringe groups.

Perhaps we will visit Iran soon, and kick up some dust. But, as with Iraq, I have a problem believing that people who are handed their freedom, ever honor or understand what it cost to attain, and therefore never hold it in high enough regard to sacrifice their own lives for it.

I am glad to hear your response.

I do know that there are many good Muslims out there, and they are overshadowed by the Mullahs who have perverted that religion.

I took a wide sweeping shot. It is not fair, and for that I apologize. I too know some Muslims in this country and they are outstanding people.

Sometime we must talk about your conversion to Catholicism. I am very interested, and appreciate your convictions.

God Bless you.

The Iranian people didn't "throw away their freedom" in 1979. Unfortunately most of what we think about '79 comes from the media who was very much in cahoots with all the actions and policy that brought Khomeini into being. The truth is that only a small minorirty of Iranians went out in support of Khomeini.. Another minority of Iranians were pissed about certain things they had heard the the propogandized media that was manipulated by Europe and the US re: the Shah. The US turned it's back on the Shah - and the West began a propoganda campaing and launch countless operations both psychological warfare as well as create violence throughout the country.

Most Iranians, and I know because I have researched and discussed throughouly with friends, family and other Iranians - were scared as hell of what would happen to their country if the Shah was deposed and many many many were begging the Shah to stay and vowed to fight along side him. You see - if the Shah had had I guess more will to fight against the Islamists - which he actually did very well for decades (he destroyed fanatics who would try to spread their ways and overthrow his gov.) and urged the Iranian people to defend the country against essentially the foreign invasion of Khomenei - who was half British half Indian (not even Iranian) by the Europeans and Washington - the Iranian people would've fought valiantly against it. It was confusing times - and to say that Iranians threw away their freedom is incorrect and quite a simplification of what actually happened.

Essentially the policy which was enacted at the time was the Brezinksi style of support Islamofascists to stop the spread of Communism. Brezenski and friends still want to continue such a ridiculous policy today. We must fight against it!

FREEDOM -
