The sort of blow depicted in movies are not of the testicle-ruptering variety. I suspect that most men, at one point or another, got slammed in the groin and I doubt that many of them have died or been seriously injured as a result. Yes, I'm well aware that a blow to the groin can be serious, but so can any blow to the head that causes unconsciousness -- a common thing to see in slapstick and comedies. It's funny because the audience doesn't believe it is either serious or perminent. The Three Stooges wouldn't be very funny if a head blow caused blood to start oozing out of their ears and they died from the wound, either. Context. Remember the context.
Oh, I know. I am, actually, one of those guys who has had a groin-kick administered - most guys who take one of the hard-style martial arts do at one point or another, which is why we're
supposed to wear cups and sometimes cheat - and it isn't pleasant, but it isn't necessarily crippling either. Most of the time.
But I am shocked and dismayed by your representation of the Three Stooges as faking those eye-gouges. Is nothing sacred? What are you going to tell us next, that pro wrestling is fake?
Hmph. I didn't think so.
