...So here's my question: Since the FBI issued a warning to the airline industry to be wary of groups of five men on a plane who might be trying to build bombs in the bathroom, shouldn't a group of 14 Middle Eastern men be screened before boarding a flight?
Apparently not. Due to our rules against discrimination, it can't be done. During the 9/11 hearings last April, 9/11 Commissioner John Lehman stated that "...it was the policy (before 9/11) and I believe remains the policy today to fine airlines if they have more than two young Arab males in secondary questioning because that's discriminatory."
So even if Northwest Airlines searched two of the men on board my Northwest flight, they couldn't search the other 12 because they would have already filled a government-imposed quota.

Long, but incredible read. Tells how descrimination quotas are setting up possible dangers in Airport screening.
If folks have time...they should read the article.
This is an incredible read. I can't imagine the horror she and others had going through their minds as they had to sit and wonder if they would be killed.
This is simply horrifying.
This was posted a week or more ago and has a zillion comments.
LOL
Part II is at the site and this woman and her husband were on Scarborough Country this week. Let's see if there is further national media attention with an emphasis on RACIAL PROFILING. Note the Syrian with the orthopedic shoe, off limits to airport security because of a TSA ruling. If that doesn't get some response from Americans, nothing will.
Insanity.
He he he...yeah.
I had 20 in the pool on how many times this would be posted. That number passed 50 times ago.
I still have the opinion that this story was written the way it was to say, "America is not safer since 9/11, and it's Bush's fault!" Just wait and see. If I had my way, no Foreign Muslim would be in the US ...
Everyone: I will not respond to flaming replies since I did that on the first 8 times this was posted on the 16th.
Thanks
This is a followup to the piece which has been posted at least 5 to 10 times on FR.
Original 80 times
Part II 40 times
"I still have the opinion that this story was written the way it was to say, "America is not safer since 9/11, and it's Bush's fault!" "
Thats how I see it. And the attention by CNN and MSNBC among others to this story is telling.
Hey Mod -
Can you change the title of this thread to more clearly explain that it's Part II to the "Terror In The Skies" article that's been causing such a stir?
The way its titled above (plus the excerpt above being taken from the middle of the article) is confusing, and people are taking this very important story as a joke (about the number of times already posted here on FR).
The correct title is "Part II: Terror in the Skies, Again?" It's worth the fix.
and again, and again, and again.
Where's that "Oh no, not this..." guy?
Hey, you post it once and I'll post it once and then maybe every FReeper will have posted it at least once....;-)
Have we taken leave of our senses?
Post it twice once for you and once for me care of you.
I am thinking about writing a story about what I once experienced. The title will be "Tenor in the Skies". I will follow up with, "Tenor in the Skies, Again". Then of course "Tenor in the Skies, Again Part II".
Being a Baritone with range into second Tenor I do have a bit of experience on the subject.
