Know Thy Enemy (Guess who! Gee, I don't know; I give up.)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | July 26, 2004 | Editorial

9-11: Whatever else you might think of the 9-11 Commission's exhaustive study of the terrorist attacks on America, it does something few people in politics these days dare to do: It identifies the enemy. How refreshing.

For nearly three years we've heard that the enemy is a bewildering array of terror groups, ranging from al-Qaida to Ansar-al-Islam to any number of strange offshoots. For many, it's all so confusing.

Who are these groups? What do they advocate? What do they want? How do we know which to fight, and which to leave alone?

The 9-11 report admirably clarifies this. In the global war on terror, we're not fighting nations. Or even something as nebulous as "terrorism."

Nor is our enemy "poverty" or "despair," as some suggest.

No, we're fighting a specific group of people who, regardless of nationality or group affiliation, adhere to a common set of beliefs.

There are two enemies.

Those who tell you how to live.
Those who tell you what to do with what you have.

Unfortunately, between these two groups, just about everybody you'll meet is your enemy. It's best not to think about it.

Like that beloved Savage says, it's "The Enemy Within".
Until we place national security over political correctness ,

we will either

fall apart from the economic impact of the coming nuclear attack
or
suffer the badgering for years to come as Israel does.

Political Correctness is a major enemy to National Security.

Turn on the TV and see how eveyone keeps claiming that ISLAM does not condone the actions we see.
But parts of their beloved book claim that when Jihad is declared...all bets are off.

Once Jihad is declared...only the declaring Cleric and lift it. Well, some of the Clerics who have declared Jihad against...Americans, Isreal, Christians, Jews...are dead. And those Jihads stay in tact.

Until the US is willing to confront this stuff for real and not worry about the PC junk.....we are in trouble.

Airline screeners, for instance, aren't allowed to pull more than two men of apparent Mideast descent from a line for security checks. Why? To do so might be discriminatory — if not impolite. So if three terrorists, say, attempt to board a plane, chances are good only two will get checked. Not very smart, but politically correct. And dangerous for all Americans.

Congress MUST address this. Screeners must be free to detain anyone who seems to pose a threat. There should be no restrictions. Screeners must have the freedom to keep Americans safe.

Whoever said Radicals aren't the enemy? This article again says what our President and administration has been saying all along: Radicals are the enemy, but they're a small number in the billion Muslims across the world.

President Bush said who the enemy was.. the difference between what our Administration say - this article conferes is there are the absolute majority who see the radical wing within the religion and then the radical Crusaders who want to fight all Muslims, and then the other liberal radicals who don't want to fight even the radicals.

"radical Crusaders"

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1177334/posts

"who want to fight all Muslims"

A distinction must be made between fighting Islam itself and fighting "all Muslims."

I hope you can see the difference.
