Malkin has summarized superbly all the reasons why Americans are increasingly tired of the
Hollywood Left.

"I want people to get their head up out of their mashed potatoes and learn something about the issues and go and vote." Linda should have taken her own advise instead of gorging herself on mashed potatoes
She looks unhappy & unhealthy

I do not begrudge anyone their opinon, but it makes me angry when she assumes she is the only one who knows what is going on and we are all uneducated idiots. It is quite the opposite.

Last night in San Rafael, two of my sisters were at her concert. It was great until the end, they said, but Linda couldn't resist and started in. At that point, one of my sisters yelled out, "Not on MY time you don't!" She said she thought Rondstadt had heard her.
Just thought you'd enjoy knowing. {:^)

She's talking directly to her RAT base... and they are idiots.

The problem with big-name entertainers is that they are surrounded by an entourage of yes men (or yes women), they are totally insulated and removed from the real world (like left-wing academics), and no one challenges them on anything. Up until now, they've been able to make their inane assertions without anyone responding. That's changed. They have their right to free speech, but so do we, the public. If we don't like what they say and do, we're free to comment, too, and we will not just shut up and mindlessly continue to buy their albums, see their movies, and watch their TV shows. What a shock it must be for them!

I think Linda is dedicating the wrong song to Moore. Instead of "Desperado," it should be "Junk Food Junkie."

Rush said something years ago, listen to what they are accusing others of, and they are usually describing themselves.

Malkin has summarized superbly all the reasons why Americans are increasingly tired of the Hollywood Left. Remember how the public's view of Hollywood was greatly dimmed by the 9-11 attacks?
Most Americans have no time for the blame America first Hollywood crowd when the reality of what an evil and dangerous world we live in becomes evident.
This of course is why Bush became so wildy popular, because he is EXACTLY the sort of leader we need.
Unfortunately it's been so long since the terrorists have hit us at home that many Americans are again becoming complacent.

Your comments are
absolutely correct!
I mean think about it: just about all the well-known stars of the Hollywood Left live extremely cloistered lives, living in large mansions with heavy security, always travelling around with armed guards nearby, shopping at only the most expensive shops, and surrounding themselves with toadies that agree with their every whim.
This is why I'm not surprised they are getting upset people are actually disagreeing with their views. The Hollywood Left doesn't understand in today's highly-connected world of the Internet and 24-hour news channels ANYTHING they say will be spread around the world in a matter of seconds.

Great! Ronstadt should wake up and realize she's not being paid to harangue her audience with her foolish political views. She probably thinks she can revive her career with this nonsense. Not.

...Ronstadt's fans would do well to inform themselves about how she thinks about them. "It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian," she confessed. "It can cloud my enjoyment," she pouted.
Do Ronstadt a favor. Uncloud her enjoyment and stay home.
I didn't have any intention of attending any of her concerts, but I can declare that I won't be buying any of her CDs to replace the albums I have (and which I'd now consider donating to somebody for target practice). ... "Pull!"
Linda also probably doesn't have any hope of a SlimFast gig in her future. ;)

-"...that there is a philosophical contract that says an artist must entertain an audience only in the ways that audience sees fit."-
The concert advertisements don't say "your favorite music, plus the artist's current political rantings". It's clearly false advertising to provide anything other than the music. If they thought we wanted to hear that crap, they'd try to draw more ticket sales by advertising it.
Thanks to the smart audience on this one.

As usual, one of the very best, most articulate of the conservative minds has once again nailed it right on the nose! Malkin is probably my favorite columnist, and she expresses my own feelings much like Michael Savage does.
